If you haven’t had the opportunity to check out Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO Max, today’s your last chance to watch Diana Prince’s newest adventure unfold on the platform. Come January 24, the film will no longer be available on HBO’s streamer, but it will eventually make its way from a theatrical and HBO Max release to other on-demand services, as well as Blu-ray and DVD.

According to The Verge, this is the timeline all of the Warner Bros. releases arriving on HBO Max and in theaters simultaneously will face, with the films being available on the streamer up to 31 days before disappearing. Since Wonder Woman 1984 came out on December 25, the DC sequel has had nearly a month-long run. It may still be playing in theaters in certain parts of the country after its departure from the platform.

As one might expected given the circumstances, Wonder Woman 1984 has had a less-than-optimal run at the domestic box office, bringing in only $35.8 million in the U.S. Although HBO Max has reported more sign-ups since the movie’s release, it doesn’t seem the sequel is doing anywhere near the numbers of its predecessor — or really, any superhero movie pre-pandemic.

When could we see Wonder Woman 1984 on DVD and Blu-ray?

Of course, those who are sad to see Wonder Woman 1984 leave HBO Max might be thinking about purchasing the film when it arrives on DVD and Blu-ray. Although there’s no set release date for those formats just yet, it’s likely fans will see the movie hit shelves sometime in March. It typically takes around 12 to 16 weeks for films to jump from movie theaters to DVD and Blu-ray, so a March release would give Warner Bros. a solid two months to get Wonder Woman 1984 out there.

In the meantime, the first Wonder Woman movie will remain on HBO Max, so fans can still enjoy watching Diana kick butt — just not in the ’80s. It’s also likely Wonder Woman 1984 will return to HBO Max somewhere down the line, though it could be a while before it does.
