Popular mobile game Summoners War will get a prequel comic in April 2021

Fans of the insanely popular mobile game Summoners War have ample reason to celebrate as the game will receive a prequel comic series in April of 2021.

Skybound Entertainment dropped an extra magical press release announcing that in April of 2021, Summoners War will be receiving a colorful and stunning prequel comic series. Summoners War, from company Com2us, is an immensely popular and well-liked mobile game that has surpassed over 100 million downloads across the globe.

This prequel comics series will be housed under Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics. With these four unstoppable forces coming together in partnership, there is no doubt this new series is going to be larger than life. Each of these powerhouses will bring something unique and special to the process of making this new series.

This new comic series will be titled Summoners War: Legacy and it takes place 35 years before the conflicts the mobile game is centered around. The press release states that this comic series will bring joy to people brand new to this universe as well as die-hard fans of the mobile game. For fans of the game, the comic will have fan favorites but will also expand upon the well-established lore the gamers already love.

This amazing new comic series will also be bringing some incredible talent together for the creative process. The writer will be Justin Jordan, the amazing mind behind comics like Dead Body Road and Reaver. The artist bringing this incredible universe to comic form will be Luca Claretti, who has done amazing work with Adventure Time Comics. The person responsible for the stunning color will be Giovanna Niro (Star Trek) and the lettering will be by Deron Bennett (Excellence)— in other words, the world is in for a treat.

The press release from Skybound also included the following quotes from writer Justin Jordan and artist Luca Claretti.

"“Summoners War has created a great world, and it’s been amazing fun to grow that world,” said Jordan. “Legacy is a really fun book that will explore places the game has yet to go, and I think it’s a damn good adventure too. Luca and Gio have done amazing work with the art, and I can’t wait for people to see the book.”Claretti added: “The thing that excited me the most about working on this project, is that even though there was a world already very characterized, deep and alive, I still had great freedom to explore and create ‘our’ vision of the world of Summoners War. And that’s not necessarily what you’d expect in this kind of project.”"

Fans can expect to see this amazing new series hit the shelves of comics stores everywhere on April 28th of this year.

Summoners War: Legacy #1 (Diamond Code FEB210054) will also be available on many online platforms.
