HOME ALONE - Eight year old Kevin MacAllister (Macaulay Culkin) gets lost in the shuffle as his large, upper-middle class suburban family rushes to make a plane that will ferry them off to their Christmas vacation in France; Kevin, having been banished to an attic room as punishment, is subsequently forgotten. At first this is a dream come true, as for the first time in his young life he has no one to answer to but himself, and he takes full advantage of his newfound freedom, eating junk food and watching late-night horror flicks. In the wake of Donald Trump’s second impeachment, Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin agrees with the idea of removing him from Home Alone 2.

Donald Trump has had to endure removal after removal in the last week of his Presidency, having been deplatformed from multiple sites including Twitter and Facebook. Now, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York star Macaulay Culkin is apparently supporting several fans’ wishes to see the president’s cameo cut from the film.

More from Movies

In recent months, director Chris Columbus revealed that Trump bullied his way into the movie. Other filmmakers backed him up, claiming that the now-President of the United States did the same thing to them, citing his involvement as a condition of allowing the properties he owns to be used in their projects.

For some, just the sight of the outgoing president is enough to set their teeth on edge. And because of everything that has been going on recently, it appears Home Alone star, Macaulay Culkin seems to agree with the idea that POTUS’s cameo should be removed from the movie.

In fact, a Twitter user posted their take of what the scene, which takes place in the Plaza Hotel from the 1992 film would look like.

As seen in the video, you can still see where Trump was in the clip, but all visuals and audio of him have been removed. Basically, Kevin asks for directions from thin air. Culkin approved it with a single-word comment: “Bravo”.

Whether or not Trump’s cameo will actually be cut from the digital version of Home Alone 2, is anyone’s guess. We doubt it, given that the role was filmed long before he ever became president.  However, Trump’s behavior in recent months that has had a lot of people calling for his removal from office and has seen certain organizations and brands distance themselves from him.

He will always have followers, there is no doubting that. However, Culkin does have a point. Trump does need to be removed from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York as he has been from everything else.
