It’s not even November, but Netflix’s Dash & Lily trailer has us excited for Christmas

Christmas hype before Halloween can be exhausting, but the new Dash & Lily trailer has us pumped for the holiday season — and October isn’t even over yet.

We’re still in Halloween mode (and probably will be until halfway through November), but Netflix’s new trailer for Dash & Lily is tempting us to start prepping for the holiday season. Yes, the movie just looks that darn cute.

Based on the young adult book series by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn, Dash & Lily  unravels a reluctant romance between its two titular characters — one that’s set in New York City during the holidays and begins in The Strand bookstore, marking two wins for this New York native.

The film stars Austin Abrams as Dash and Midori Francis as Lily, and if the first footage is anything to judge by, it seems the two will bring plenty of heart to this charming Christmas rom-com. There is the glaring issue that Dash isn’t a big fan of the holidays — but it looks like Lily is going to fix that for him.

Watch the trailer for Dash & Lily below:

The trailer shows the two characters going back and forth with their red book of dares — and coming together with the help of Lily’s brother and Dash’s best friend. By the time they actually meet one another face to face, romance lovers are bound to get their satisfying conclusion — and that’s something we could use after this wild year.

If the trailer and cheery story isn’t enough to draw you in, though, it’s also worth noting that Shawn Levy and Josh Barry are executive producing the film — so, if you’re a fan of Stranger Things or Unsolved Mysteries, well, you may just be tempted to give this very-different story a try. Nick Jonas is also involved as an executive producer, because the Jo Bros. don’t already give us enough reason to swoon…

Dash & Lily arrives on Netflix on November 10 — just in time for a few rewatches before Santa makes his way down the chimney.
