The Masked Singer season 4: Is Demi Lovato behind one of those masks?

There is speculation that Demi Lovato is performing on season four of FOX’s The Masked Singer. Here’s why.

Is Demi Lovato secretly competing on a reality competition show?

FOX’s The Masked Singer had its season four premiere on Wednesday. The first performance was by a costumed character named The Sun. Nicole Scherzinger, one of the show’s judges, labeled it her favorite opening performance of the series.

When judges took guesses as to who could be inside the costume, Jenny McCarthy said Lovato. Is she right?

The clue package before the performance did drop clues that would support the theory of Lovato being behind the mask. Clues in the video montage included sunshine, how stardom once turned this star toward depression, being frozen, and images that included Mickey Mouse ears, a swimming pool, and a jaguar.

How does this relate to Lovato? A Mickey Mouse silhouette could be symbolic of her rise to stardom on Disney. There, Lovato starred in Camp Rock (2008) with the Jonas Brothers and in Princess Protection Program (2009) co-starring with Selena Gomez. The sunshine in the package and the costume could be a play on words as Lovato played a Disney series character named Sonny on Sonny With a Chance (2009-11). For Disney’s Frozen, Lovato performed the soundtrack song titled “Let It Go,” which would explain the frozen clue.

It has been well documented that Lovato has been battling depression near the conclusion of her Disney career and in 2018 when she relapsed after six years of sobriety. The Sun also added, “I went through some extreme seasons in my life,” which could be a double entendre for not only battling depression but her hit song and 2015 summer anthem, “Cool for the Summer.”

The image of a jaguar animal in The Sun’s clue package could represent the Jaguar F-TYPE Lovato was riding shotgun in for the music video for “Sorry Not Sorry.” In that same music video, Lovato is shown in a hot tub during a house party, which could explain a swimming pool image in the show’s clue package. “Sorry Not Sorry” is Lovato’s most sold single, as it became a five-time Platinum record in January.

With so many clues fitting a theory this singer could be Lovato, the biggest hint, which is the singing voice, has sparked rumors this is an entirely different singer inside The Sun. Outside Lovato, LeAnn Rimes and Christina Aguilera are the two most frequently linked to the performer.

“LeAnn Rimes !!! Gotta be her,” one account tweeted.

Another account begged to differ.

”I’m 99.999% certain that is Christina Aguilera. Disney Head in Clue/Reflection comment/Plus a few other things,” a Twitter user wrote.

With judges giving high praise to this performer, this may be a mystery that could very well extend toward the finale. Only time will tell if the theory of Lovato being inside The Sun costume is true.
