If you’ve been on the edge about getting a Netflix subscription, you can watch some of their shows, including Stranger Things and Grace and Frankie, for free on their website now.

Your days of borrowing your cousin’s friend’s ex-boyfriend’s Netflix password are over — even if you don’t have a subscription. Netflix is now offering a variety of shows and movies through its subscription service completely free of charge.

If you head to their website, their free version reads, “Netflix is the premier destination for all your entertainment needs. But don’t take out word for it — check out some of our favorite movies and TV shows, absolutely free.”

Netflix has become one of the most popular streaming services around the world since it first created a platform where television addicts never have to wait for a new episode. But since Netflix was introduced, a variety of competitors have released similar strategies of engaging their target audience and bringing a season’s worth of television to you on a daily basis. And so far, they’ve all been popular.

More from Netflix

This is especially true as the days of lockdown, social distancing, and staying at home continue on into the fall. But with popularity and competition comes business execs knowing they can do better. So Netflix is trying a new strategy, which is to release a bundle of movies and shows to the public for free. No subscription needed.

Among the list of titles being offered are sci-fi hit Stranger Things; Sandra Bullock’s best work Bird Box; and the reality show that came way before COVID-19’s time, Love Is Blind. Other free options include Grace and Frankie, When They See Us, Murder Mystery, Elite, and The Two Popes.

So, before you commit to signing up for a Netflix account (although they do offer a month-long free trial), you can stream all of these things and more using Netflix’s Free Version without giving any credit card numbers or making any commitments. What are you waiting for?
