After a coronavirus delay, The CW has announced that the final episodes of its long-running hit Supernatural will air beginning in October.

Prepare your emotions, Supernatural fans. The long-running CW hit will finally wrap things up this October after fifteen seasons and a coronavirus-related production delay that halted filming on its final pair of episodes.

The CW announced that the final seven episodes of Supernatural season 15 will officially premiere on Thursday, October 6. The long-awaited series finale is currently slated to air on November 19. It will be preceded by a retrospective special entitled Supernatural: The Long Road Home.

(Cue “Carry On My Wayward Son.”)

That finale date is, of course, potentially subject to change, given that the series final two installments have yet to be filmed. But with production slated to resume this week in Vancouver, the show has some time to work with.

Though, apparently the final scripts may look a bit different than they did pre-COVID-19.

Star Jensen Ackles confirmed that there have been some “adjustments” to the remaining two episodes to accommodate filming during such difficult times.

“There have been some adjustments made from the scripts that we were going to shoot in March to the scripts that we’re shooting now,” he said during a Zoom conversation with co-star Mischa Collins, Senator Cory Booker, and Democratic candidate M.J. Hager. “We’ve had to accommodate a pandemic.”

But, never fear – we all knew nothing was ever going to keep the Winchester brothers down for long.

Supernatural will return as part of a fall CW lineup that will look very different from previous years. With most of the network’s Arrowverse series not returning until January, the Winchesters will share screentime with a variety of new programs and imports.

These include international series Devils, starring Grey’s Anatomy alum Patrick Dempseyas well as comic book series Swamp Thing, another import from the streaming platform DC Universe.

The DC Universe series are all apparently moving to HBO Max. dark. Next
