The Kissing Booth 3 already filmed, will hit Netflix in 2021

A third installment in Netflix’s hit teen rom-com franchise, The Kissing Booth, has already been filmed and will stream in 2021.
Good news for fans of Netflix teenage rom-com The Kissing Booth – even though sequel The Kissing Booth 2 only just dropped on the streaming service, a third installment is already headed our way. And sooner than most would have predicted.
According to Variety, the third film was shot in secret alongside the second installment, meaning that it’s already in post-production. Therefore, The Kissing Booth 3 has safely avoided many of the problems plaguing shoots that don’t know when they’ll be able to finish – or even begin – filming given the coronavirus pandemic that’s still raging throughout the country.
Stars Joey King, Jacob Ellodi, and Joel Courtney are all back for the franchise’s third outing, along with Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Molly Ringwald.
The franchise follows the story of a high school student named Ellie who falls in love with her best friend’s Lee’s hunky older brother. The Kissing Booth 3 will pick up after the events of the second film and presumably give us an answer to where Ellie will decide to go to college. She’s been accepted at both Harvard (where her boyfriend is Noah is headed) as well as Berkeley (where her BFF Lee is going).
I mean, at least if she decides to base her college pick on a boy she’ll end up at Harvard. Realism, y’all!
Though The Kissing Booth 2 has drawn mixed reviews from critics, the franchise still appears to be a hit with viewers, with both films currently ranking in Netflix’s Top 10 for the weekend. When the first installment was released in 2018, Netflix reported that it was one of their most rewatched original films of that year. (For what that’s worth. Netflix is notoriously cagey about things like viewing numbers.)
The Kissing Booth 3 is slated to stream at an as-yet-undetermined point in 2021.
