Production on hit BBC America drama Killing Eve has been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, leaving the Season 4 premiere in limbo.

It looks like we may have to wait a bit longer than usual to see the next season of hit BBC drama  Killing Eve.  Season 4 of the popular series was slated to go into production this summer but has now been delayed thanks to the still-raging coronavirus pandemic that has swept the globe.

Given the globe-trotting nature of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series, Killing Eve regularly films in a variety of cities around Europe. (In the past, it has visited everywhere Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Bucharest.) But given the travel restrictions currently in place as a precaution against coronavirus spread, reaching many of the as-yet-unrevealed locations for season 4 appears to be causing some difficulty.

According to Deadline, there are also rumors that star Sandra Oh is reluctant to board a plane given, well…everything.

"There have also been some industry rumors that Oh has been reluctant to fly into Europe to begin shooting, but this was downplayed by a source close to the show. One prominent British drama producer acknowledged, however, that getting Hollywood talent on a plane is not going to be straightforward for anyone right now."

Personally, even if it is true – which may or may not be the case – I wouldn’t blame her at all.

A spokesperson for the show confirmed that there is no set schedule for season 4 production at this point.

"“Killing Eve shoots across multiple European locations. Due to the uncertainty of the world as a result of Covid-19, no shooting schedules for Killing Eve season four have been locked in at this point and there are various scenarios in play.”"

Each of Killing Eve’s previous three seasons has premiered in early spring, usually at some point in April. That means the show operates on a pretty quick production turn around, given that it only films about eight months before it airs. Good news: That means once the show can start filming, it won’t take that long to arrive on-air. But, there’s also bad news: If season 4 can’t start production in August, there’s little chance it’ll make it to our screens next April.

Like so many other properties, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Next. The one thing we absolutely need from Killing Eve season 4. dark

Killing Eve will return at some point in 2021 – and hopefully sooner rather than later.
