No boo to you: Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party canceled
The Disney event Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has been canceled this year.
This year, there is no “Let’s Boo This.” The annual Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has been canceled for Halloween 2020. Announced on the Disney Parks blog, the annual Disney Halloween celebration will not happen. While the Disney Parks look to reopen next month, it seems that some special ticketed events are being revamped.
The annual Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a huge Halloween event for both young and old. For adults, it is the only time that they can wear a Disney costume within the Parks. For families, it is time to trick or treat and enjoy copious amounts of candy. For theme park fans, it is a chance to ride those favorite attractions with minimal wait.
Disney Parks stated, “We determined that many of its hallmarks — stage shows, parades, and fireworks — are unable to take place in this new, unprecedented environment,” which led to the decision to cancel. Based on the popular activities for this special ticketed event, the decision makes sense, although many people will be quite disappointed.
Also, noted in the announcement is the decision to cancel the Disney H2O Glow Nights at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. Although not discussed in this announcement, it will be curious to see if the annual RunDisney Wine and Dine event in November will happen as planned. As of this writing, there has been no decision on holiday events, like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
The cancellation of this Halloween event will have many Disney fans feeling disappointed. For some people, they planned annual trips around this celebration. Whether it was the candy, the costumes, or just the Halloween magic, Magic Kingdom seemed to be cast under a special spell during these events.
While the party might be canceled, it can be assumed that Disney will decorate Magic Kingdom for Halloween. Those Mickey pumpkins will add a little Halloween flare to a fall visit.
If you are missing the Disney magic, remember you can have Disney Magic Moments at home. Last month, Disney celebrated its Halfway to Halloween. From tasty treats to Halloween-inspired ideas, many Disney fans found ways to bring some Pixie Dust to their kingdom.
What do you think about Mickey’s Not So Scary Party being canceled this year? Are you still considering a Disney vacation for 2020?
