The world of feature film Love, Simon is about to get a little bigger – thanks to the arrival of new Hulu spinoff series, Love, Victor.

With everything terrible happening around us these days, many viewers are looking for comfort television. Thankfully, the trailer for Hulu’s new Love, Simon spin-off/sequel series, called Love, Victor, is here to make us all feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Based on the world of the 2018 feature film Love, Simon, this series follows the story of Victor, a new student at the same high school from the film, who’s busy adjusting to many of the issues that come with being a teenager. Including figuring out who he is – and who he’s attracted to. He turns to Simon for help, writing letters that details his struggles in self actualization and his crush on a cute boy.

If the trailer is anything to go by, Victor’s road to acceptance is going to be a bit bumpier than Simon’s was, as his family doesn’t appear nearly as open to the prospect of their son being gay or in a same sex relationship. But, the vibe of this clip is still one of joy and triumph, so I’m going to guess that Victor (and that cutie from school) find their way in the end. Which, you know, is a story I could really get behind seeing right now.

Watch the (extremely adorbs) trailer for yourself below.

Love, Victor was originally supposed to launch on Disney+, but moved to Hulu because it’s apparently too mature for the family-friendly platform. Now, given that this trailer is basically the equivalent of puppies playing, I’m not entirely sure that that means. (JK, I absolutely know what it means and so do all of you, and Disney should be ashamed of itself for booting this sweet-seeming series from its service simply because it’s going to feature two boys kissing each other. Hulu’s gain, in my opinion.)

The series stars an almost completely new cast of characters, though apparently actor Nick Robinson, who played Simon, will narrate the story.

Love Victor will stream on Hulu on June 19.
