Although neither Green Arrow and the Canaries nor The 100 prequel are listed on The CW’s 2020-21 schedule, both are still “alive” at the network.

Fans looking forward to the highly anticipated spin-offs to Arrow and The 100 may have found themselves disappointed when The CW released its 2020-21 television schedule. Both Green Arrow and the Canaries and The 100‘s unnamed prequel are missing from its lineup, but according to chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz, that’s no reason to fret.

Speaking with TVLine, Pedowitz assured fans that both pilots are “very much alive,” even if they’ve yet to see full-series orders. That said, it seems as though the network is waiting until the current health crisis has eased before moving forward with any of its series that are currently under consideration. (At least, that seems to be the case, given that it’s also pushing its The Lost Boys pilot back.)

Pedowitz didn’t give much more information than that, but it’s a relief to know that both of these highly anticipated spin-offs aren’t being tossed away. After all, Green Arrow and the Canaries saw 890,000 viewers when its pilot aired in January, and DC TV fans have been calling for it to move forward ever since. The 100 has a similarly large viewership that would likely tune in for a prequel if it was given a series order, so it’s hard to see either of these getting trashed — but you just never know.

Given the current circumstances, it could be a while before fans get another update on either spin-off. The CW has already pushed most of its new seasons to January 2021, and it’s even skipping its annual Arrowverse crossover event this year, so it’s not like these are the only projects to see delays. Still, fans will be at ease when both series receive green lights. (Which will hopefully be the end result for both these projects … right?)

Next. Batwoman & Superman will lead next Arrowverse crossover. dark
