In order to help flatten the curve during the COVID-19 pandemic, Freeform has launched a social media campaign aimed at keeping viewers safe and healthy.

Freeform, formerly known as ABC Family, has become one of the most socially progressive networks in the industry. With an arsenal of shows such as The Bold Type, Good Trouble, and Everything’s Gonna Be Okay, the network goes out of its way to be inclusive of all races, sexualities, and identities. So it’s no surprise that, amidst the chaos the world is going through right now, Freeform is using its stable of talented actors and binge-worthy shows to promote social distancing.

Earlier this week, Freeform announced plans to launch #StayTheFFHome, a social media campaign to promote health and safety guidelines during the coronavirus pandemic. The goal is to get audiences to take the “safer at home” warnings from government officials seriously.

The network has put together an addictive lineup of their most popular series to air alongside PSAs for both streaming and social media platforms. The PSAs will feature actors and actresses from the network’s shows to talk about the importance of social distancing and flattening the curve. Freeform will also extend #StayTheFFHome to the outdoors, with branded billboards and other outdoor posters.

In addition to an Everything’s Gonna Be Okay — which was recently named one of the best shows you’re probably not watching — marathon on April 3 (complete with live social media interactions with star/creator Josh Thomas), the network has themed movie marathons for each weekend in April.

The weekend of April 4 will feature “chick-flick” movies such as Miss Congeniality 1 and 2, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, and Pitch Perfect. The following weekend will revolve around superhero/sci-fi movies like Back to the Future, The Incredibles, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. The weekend of the April 18 will feature movies of wit and whimsy, such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, and Despicable Me. And the final weekend of April will include a marathon of the entire Hunger Games franchise.

A complete schedule of movies and times is available here.

Next. The Good Place, Queer Eye, and 11 other shows to distract you from reality. dark
