With so many movies currently being delayed, there’s not much to look forward to in the next month or so. The Walt Disney Company is changing that by releasing Frozen 2 a little early.

With all the movies being delayed over the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, it looks like most of us will have to find the joy in rewatching our favorites for the time being. With blockbusters being delayed, there isn’t much to look forward to seeing in theaters — but the Walt Disney Company has given us something to anticipate on its Disney+ streaming service.

Disney announced yesterday that it would be releasing Frozen 2 on Disney+ three months early, with the film arriving on the platform on March 15 in the U.S. Other countries won’t have long to wait to see Anna and Elsa in action again either, as the movie will be available in Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand on March 17.

In the press release announcing this development, Disney stated that it wanted to surprise “families with some fun and joy during this challenging period.” Most of us could definitely use some fun and joy after keeping up with the current news cycle, and an animated Disney feature is sure to deliver on that front — especially one as beloved as Frozen 2.

For those who somehow escaped the hype surrounding the Frozen sequel when it first came out, the film follows Anna and Elsa as they embark on a new adventure, this time to uncover their family’s past and save the people of Arendelle. The film offers some stunning new bops on its soundtrack, including “Into the Unknown” and “Show Yourself,” and it also takes a deep dive into the characters fans have come to know and love from the previous installment.

Anyone who hasn’t seen Frozen 2 yet should consider taking advantage of this early release, and even those who have seen it will likely benefit from another watch. After all, Olaf’s antics are sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face. And even if the film might make you shed a tear or two, there’s always a silver lining with Disney.
