It looks like the Crisis anomaly from the most recent episode of Batwoman was too good to be true, after all. So, what happens when there are two Alices on the same Earth?

The most recent episode of Batwoman ended on a sour note for Kate, who was finally seeing some happiness, with much of Gotham rallying behind her and the Crisis on Infinite Earths anomaly of her sister — the non-evil one — returning. But good things never last on these shows, and the episode ends with both Beth and Alice keeled over in intense pain. It looks like two versions of one person cannot be on the same Earth for very long, and this seems to be the first side effect from that overlap.

This week’s episode, “Take Your Choice,” shows the characters coping with the reality that both Beth and Alice cannot remain on their Earth — and it looks like Sophie, at least, is quick to decide which one is staying in the promo trailer. Her command to “shoot to kill” is a harrowing one, though it’s unlikely Alice’s end will come that easily.

Watch the preview for this week’s episode of Batwoman here:

Of course, this Earth’s Alice isn’t going down without a fight — and she certainly seems to resent the fact that her alternate-universe counterpart hasn’t faced the same trauma she’s been forced to endure. It’s difficult not to feel for Alice a little, even after all the terrible things she’s done. Still, it looks like poor Beth is even worse off this episode, as there are several clips of her meeting Alice. That probably won’t go so well…

Mouse and Jacob both look worse for wear in this week’s preview, as well, with the latter finally experiencing abuse at the hands of the criminals he’s locked up in the past. To be honest, Jacob has had a pretty smooth transition being thrown in prison, so it was probably a matter of time before something like this happened.

It’s unclear why Mouse is tied up and screaming, but it seems like he’s fallen into enemy hands. After the stunt he pulled last time, we can’t say it’s entirely undeserved. But it’ll be interesting to see how Alice takes to this.
