Disneyland is always a place where magic happens. In 2020, all the new attractions sprinkling the theme park with pixie dust makes it even more magical than ever.

Need a reason to visit Disneyland in 2020? With several new attractions coming to the California Disney theme park, it is a perfect time to plan another visit. From a child’s first visit to the ultimate fan girl looking to celebrate her fandom, Disneyland is definitely the place where magic happens in 2020.

Disney has always found ways to bring favorite characters and stories off the screen and into the real world. While some classic attractions will always hold that nostalgic memory, theme park enthusiasts and Disney fans are always looking for something more. From immersive experiences to favorite characters, each new offering entices fans to come back time and again.

Looking at 2020, Disneyland will experience lots of changes. From a new Avengers campus to the second Star Wars installment, Mickey will have many new friends coming to play in and around Cinderella’s castle.

Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure

While Disney guests in Europe can already interact with the Marvel superheroes, U.S. guests have been waiting to be recruited by the Avengers team. Throughout the Avengers Campus, our favorite superheroes will be interacting with guests.

From Thor to Black Widow to Guardians of the Galaxy, guests will get up close and personal with their favorite characters. Although these characters might not reveal their superhero secrets, they might inspire guests to find the hero within themselves.

Spider-Man ride

While an exact opening date isn’t clear, the Avengers Campus will definitely draw huge crowds to the California theme park. Since Walt Disney World can never have certain Marvel characters on its properties, this attraction will be the first time a Spider-Man attraction will be in a U.S. Disney theme park.

As guests enter the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, aka the WEB, guests will experience the “first Disney ride-through attraction to feature Spider-Man.” Guests will sling their own spider webs and try to collect spider bots. Hopefully everyone’s spidey senses are tingling with excitement.

Magic Happens Parade

Coming on February 28, 2020, the Magic Happens Parade celebrates some of those magical moments that make Disney so special. While princesses might fill people’s imagination, big moments make those stories memorable.

In the new parade, Disney will celebrate that magic in everyone. Special powers aren’t needed to make dreams come true. The strike of a clock doesn’t wipe away all those special life moments. Magic is all around and should be celebrated.

Featuring a new song and an upbeat score, this daytime parade will showcase all types of Disney characters. From new favorites like those in Coco and Moana to the latest Frozen 2 adventure, these characters will join Mickey and his pals for the newest sprinkling of Disney magic.

Rise of the Resistance

Walt Disney World opened its Rise of the Resistance ride, but Disneyland opens its own version in 2020. Although both rides are the same, it will be interesting to see if Disney learned anything from the East Coast opening. Since the West Coast opened Galaxy’s Edge first, they had to wait for this massive, immersive experience.

Even though the Galaxy’s Edge crowds have been not as large as anticipated, the new ride should have more people making a visit. Since Disney can be an expensive vacation, many people might have waited till both rides were open.

65th Anniversary of Disneyland Park

When it comes to big anniversaries, Disney usually marks the occasion with a lot of fanfare. Although the exact celebrations haven’t been announced, it seems likely that Disney will make a big deal about this momentous event.

Many Disney fans should expect special merchandise, events, and something quite magical. Looking back at Mickey’s 90th birthday, the Disney theme parks had many activities. With all the classic rides turning 65, just think of the collectibles that might be available.
