The Ghostbusters: Afterlife trailer has arrived, and it looks like the film will offer an eerily unique take on the franchise — one that’s more serious than previous iterations.

After the previous reboot of Ghostbusters, fans were hesitant hearing that we’d be getting another iteration of the film in 2020. But Ghostbusters: Afterlife looks like it will appeal to a new generation — especially one that’s growing up with shows like Stranger Things — and it’s certainly got enough callbacks to attract older audiences as well.

The first full-length trailer for the film dropped yesterday, and it boasts a tone that’s both eerie and charming — and with the star-studded cast involved, the movie looks like it might actually be worth our time.

Watch the trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife here:

What’s most interesting about this trailer is the serious tone it takes, which veers away from the sillier, more humorous tone of the previous installments in the franchise. While this will by no means be a horror movie, it looks like it could present some creepy moments, especially since it’s following characters moving into an old (and probably haunted) farmhouse.

With the premise of strange incidents happening in a small town in the ’80s, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is also giving off some serious Stranger Things vibes. (Or is that just because Finn Wolfhard is starring in the movie?)

But even with all the suspense and mystery, there will be some comical moments, as is evidenced by Wolfhard’s character’s, “Remember that one summer we died under a table?” If that sort of snark fills most of the film’s dialogue, viewers are sure to have a few laughs while watching it. Plus, you just can’t have a movie with Paul Rudd and not have laughter — right?

Only time will tell if Ghostbusters: Afterlife will live up to the original Ghostbusters‘ legacy, but the first trailer does give us hope that we’ll enjoy the upcoming film. Because, you know, we ain’t ‘fraid of no ghosts.
