After months of speculation, we finally have our first look at Keri Russell’s new character in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

We’re a little more than two months away from the final installment in the newest Star Wars trilogy, and we’re learning new details every day, including that a new trailer is closer than we think.

Thanks to Entertainment Weeklywe also now (finally!) know a bit more about Keri Russell’s mysterious character in The Rise of Skywalker, which will mark J.J. Abrams’s return to the franchise as writer and director, and reunite the Felicity pair.

According to EW, Russell is set to play Zorri Bliss, a “rogue operative” connected to Poe in some unknown way. In the exclusive image, she is seen presenting “an unmarked coin or data storage device of some kind.”

We should probably note how weird it is that our first look at Russell’s character, actually doesn’t show us much of her Star Wars role at all. One has to assume she’ll lose the helmet at some point, right?

In a previous interview with Variety, Russell gave more insight into the character:

"“She has a little bit of a checkered past and maybe some questionable morals, but she’s really an old friend of Poe’s. I think the entrance of Zorri is there to describe more of who he was, y’know, in a very intimate way and a familiar way, and the friends are sort of like, ‘What do you mean, you know him?'”"

“Intimate and familiar” relationship with Poe Dameron, you say? If Abrams serves us Russell and Isaac as star-crossed former lovers, I am here for it.

Honestly, who wouldn’t be?

Thanks to Felicity and The Americans, Russell is known for playing characters with her trademark curls and wigs. Now it appears that, with the Star Wars franchise, she has upgraded to wacky helmets. Surely people will be more friendly to short hair in a galaxy far, far away.
