A new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer isn’t all that far, far away

It looks like a new trailer for Stars Wars: The Rise of Skywalker might be on the horizon — but it’ll probably just leave us with more questions.

It feels like Star Wars fans have been waiting forever to see The Rise of Skywalker, and the promotional footage released for the film thus far has left the majority of us with more questions than answers. The most recent footage released at Disney’s D23 Expo revealed Rey holding a dual red lightsaber, leading many fans to question whether she’ll turn to the Dark Side in the upcoming film — though it seems unlikely the filmmakers would give such a huge twist away before Episode IX even hits theaters.

And as though our heads aren’t spinning enough from that, recent leaks suggest that we’ll be seeing another glimpse of The Rise of Skywalker soon.

These leaks come from Star Wars actor John Boyega’s agent, Femi Oguns, who posted a promotional image for The Rise of Skywalker on her Instagram — one that has a logo for Monday Night Football on it. The caption also reads, “The next @starwarsmovies trailer out Monday. It’s official.” That said, it seems like fans should be on the lookout for this trailer over the next few Mondays.

This is likely to be the final trailer Star Wars fans will get before the film hits theaters in December, and if we’re being honest, it probably won’t answer our burning questions. After all, we need some incentive to go see the movie. If anything, this new look will probably raise some more eyebrows in an attempt to draw audiences in. (And let’s be honest, that strategy is working…)

Recently released posters and art for the film have focused on Rey’s relationship to Kylo Ren, so it’s possible this final look at The Rise of Skywalker will do the same. That seems to be the focal point of the final trilogy in the Skywalker Saga, and it’s an element of the newer films that fans have latched onto and gotten increasingly invested in.

Whatever the upcoming trailer shows us, we’re bound to have plenty of feelings and theories after watching it. Thankfully, we don’t have that long to wait before finally getting some concrete answers. December’s around the corner, after all!
