Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls and Parenthood is officially returning to TV. She is joining the show Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist  as a series regular, and her fans are all over social media showing their love for the actress.

NBC announced that Lauren Graham will be joining their new musical dramedy Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlistwhich  will be premiering midseason in 2020.  Graham will be playing the role of Joan, the boss of  the main character Zoey (played by  Jane Levy), who is a computer coder.  After a strange event, Zoey is able to hear the innermost thoughts of people around her through songs. Viewers will watch Zoey grapple with this unusual gift and realize the benefits it can bring to her life.

Graham’s role on  Zoey’s Extraordinary will be her second appearance on an NBC show after her six seasons on the show Parenthood.  The season finale aired  January 29, 2015, but Graham also had other successes after Parenthood.

The actress starred in the Gilmore Girls  Netflix miniseries titled Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, which aired back in 2016.  Graham also played a temporary role in the 2017 return of Curb Your Enthusiasm.  Also in 2017, Lauren Graham starred in a  Fox pilot called Linda From HRbut unfortunately the show did not secure a spot in the 2017-18 season and was canceled.

And although Graham has kept busy, this has left a significant gap for many of her fans.  Once her return to TV was announced, her fans responded with so much love (and, of course, so many Gilmore Girls references.

This GIF of Lorelai Gilmore dancing perfectly describes how we feel about Graham’s return:

We are so very glad she isn’t sick of acting just yet, too:

Graham’s return is great TV news, and fans are waiting to see this legend in action again. It helps that the NBC series Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist also seems to have a fascinating premise — meaning we’re likely in for some fun surprises over the course of its run.
