In January 2022, Disney Cruises will be adding to their fleet with a new ship that is truly a fairytale inspired wonderland. And there is even a new destination!

Disney Cruises is unveiling their fifth ship and with it comes a luxury boat that is inspired by a fairytale. The “Disney Wish” will accommodate 1,250 guests and will be the lap of luxury on the high seas.

With this cruise ship, the House of Mouse is pulling inspiration from one of our favorite enchanted fairytales, Rapunzel, or as Disney fans think of the story, Tangled. And when they say that the ship is inspired by the story, they are not kidding, as the stern of the boat will feature a giant illustration with the princess and her trusty sidekick, Pascale.

The decoration on the stern will show off the artistic princess as she and Pascale decorate the ship themselves. Rapunzel will be using her own hair to suspend herself over the side of the ship, while she holds a paintbrush in one hand.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, “Spirited, smart, curious, and above all, adventurous, Rapunzel embodies the wish and desire to see and experience the world.”

While this newest cruise ship will offer similar travel and entertainment experiences to the other ships in the Disney fleet, there is also a new destination on the horizon, as a second Bahamas destination is being constructed. A report from Delish points to the island of Eleuthera, and its new Lighthouse Point, as being the latest destination for the cruise line.

Check out the video posted by Disney to YouTube with our first look at the newest cruise ship:

Although the new cruise ship will be added to the fleet in January 2022, the new destination in the Bahamas will not be arriving quite as soon. At the this time, we likely won’t see Lighthouse Point joining the list of stops for the cruise ships until at least the end of 2022, or even the beginning of 2023.

Considering this new ship is inspired by one of my favorite Disney movies, Tangled, here’s hoping to a special guest on board in the form of Flynn Rider. Of course, I think the best way to kick off this new ship would be to have both Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi as special guests for the inaugural launch. After all, they truly are the heart of Tangled and with a ship that is inspired by this classic fairytale, they would be the perfect people to help make the first cruise a win.

Whether or not the House of Mouse decides to bring the original voice actors behind the movie into the mix, we are definitely excited for a new ship inspired by a fairytale, especially this one. Now it is time to plan our next vacation, even if we do have to wait until 2022 for it.
