Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD review: The FitzSimmons magical mystery tour

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD focuses this week’s episode on FitzSimmons. How many memories can these two relive? And can they survive it all together again?

Should we prepare ourselves for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD and all the torturing of FitzSimmons for this week’s episode? Well, I’m prepared, because this well never runs dry.

Fitz isn’t all for time travel and can’t even fathom all of the paradoxes that come with it, but Simmons doesn’t have the time to brief him. The chamber they’re in allows FitzSimmons to share and relive their memories so they can utilize everything. As it turns out, they’re in a mind prison.

Also, he proposes. …Again. It’s cute, and their hangout afterwards is great while they reminisce about all the places they’ve been looking for each other.

Simmons won’t talk much about the future. Can you blame her? She also makes herself seven years old and runs off into a dark tunnel in a very Alice in Wonderland fashion. It’s where she solves all of her problems.

MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – “All Roads Lead…” – The team must find a way to stop Ruby before the prophesized chain reaction that can destroy the Earth is put into motion, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” FRIDAY, APRIL 20 (9:01-10:01 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network. When she brings herself back to her current age, she conjures up the memory of when they bring Fitz’s body back to SHIELD HQ. You can bet this particular paradox freaks Fitz out. Honestly the entire thing is heart wrenching, as it includes Coulson dragging himself out of bed.

And Fitz has no idea everything that he’s missed. He takes off and drags them off to a study session back at university. But the Head of Hydra is soon on his way to make things even more dangerous. To top it off, Simmons unleashes her own pain in the form of a terrifying, stabby creature.

They get separated. Fitz has to take on Simmons’ demon while Simmons has to take on Hydra!Fitz. Just in time, they realize they can call on their friends to help take on their demons, and the rest of the Agents of SHIELD crew shows up to help do some damage control.

We also get a great lovers’ quarrel with them stuck in the containment pod. It also ends with them screaming angrily that they love each other and would die for each other and honestly, it’s just great.

And then Enoch saves the day by knocking out the other Chronicoms.

MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – “Fear and Loathing on the Planet of Kitson” – It’s a wild night out on the planet of Kitson for the agents. While Fitz and Enoch try their luck at the casino, nearby, Daisy and Simmons find themselves in a much . groovier situation on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” airing FRIDAY, MAY 24 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network. Back on Earth, Daisy brings Mack up to speed. He’s happy Fitz is alive and knows they’ll be safe if they’re together.

Badass Moment of the Week

I mean… I guess Hydra!Fitz and Demon!Simmons getting it on?

Best One-Liner

“The true you just cut my heart out with her BONE KNIFE!” Fitz screams at Simmons.

Can we please get a copy of that children’s book about Simmons’ search for Fitz among the stars? My favorite memory, however, had to be when Coulson recruited FitzSimmons to his team. It’s always great to see Clark Gregg get to pull out his original Coulson chops.

So how do you think Fitz will react when he actually meets his grandson Deke?
