This makeup collection for The Lion King will make you the talk of the pride

With the live action movie almost here, Disney has a new makeup collaboration with Sir John Barnett for The Lion King. It’s full of fun colors inspired by the movie.

A mighty, new makeup palette is roaring into the scene for Disney fans. Sir John Barnett, makeup artist to Beyoncé, has collaborated with Luminess to create a makeup collection inspired by Disney’s The Lion King.

When it comes to makeup with cartoon characters, you might be thinking of the days at Claire’s with low-pigmented eyeshadow and nearly clear lipsticks that were, to put it simply, made for children. But make no mistake, this is no children’s makeup collection. The line of lipsticks, eyeshadow and sculpting palettes, and highlighters is for the sophisticated makeup users who still have a love for Disney in their hearts.

Similar to the Princess Jasmine line from MAC released for the new Aladdin movie, the packaging is stunning, and you can take it anywhere with zero shame of it being a collection for a Disney movie.

In the collection, you’ll see deep, Earth-like tones inspired by The Lion King’s setting. When it came to choosing the colors for the line, Hello Giggles reports:

"While designing the collection, Barnett frequently traveled to South Africa where he found shade inspiration from the landscape. He described the landscape as having “supernatural neutrals.”"

The Can’t Wait to Be Queen eyeshadow palette looks like it’s one of the most fun parts of the collection. Over half of the palette is neutrals, but there are absolutely lovely shades of blue, purple and green (possibly inspired by the day and night sky, as well as the greenery of land). Plus, some of the shades are cleverly named after characters in the movie.

The collection also comes with four lipsticks. Two of them are matte, while the other two are liquid. The Romantic Atmosphere liquid lipstick is one of the best-looking shades, and it’s definitely bound to inspire a few “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” moments on date night.

To see the full collection, you can head over to Luminess’ website. The collection launches on June 15 online and at Ulta on June 16. Prices range from $24-$42. If you’re really loving the whole line, you can grab the entire set for $250.
