Show off your Disney style with new celebrity-designed Mouse Ears
Get ready to open your wallet. Celebrity-designed Mouse Ears are coming and you will definitely want to add them to your Disney collection.
What is your Disney style? Mouse ears are usually a must for any Disney fan. In many cases, Disney fanatics have several Mickey hats and Minnie headbands. Starting this summer, there is another reason to add to that collection: celebrity-designed Mouse Ears.
Recently, Disney announced that over the next year, several designer Mouse Ears will be coming to both Disney Parks and Shop Disney. These newest designs are created by some big names associated with Disney. From legendary Disney Imagineers to Her Universe and even Karlie Kloss, these new fashion accessories will have you planning your next Disney visit outfit.
According to Disney, the designer collection includes the following:
"HARVEYS – May 24thBetsey Johnson – Summer 2019ALEX AND ANI – Summer 2019Noah Fine Art – Summer 2019Kim Irvine – Summer 2019Her Universe – Summer 2019SHAG – Summer 2019Jerrod Maruyama – Fall 2019Heidi Klum – Fall 2019The Blonds – Fall 2019Loungefly – Fall 2019Coach – Fall 2019Joe Rohde – April 2020Vera Wang – Spring 2020Cupcakes and Cashmere – Spring 2020Kevin Rafferty – Spring 2020Karlie Kloss – Spring 2020John Coulter – Summer 2020"
As this list shows, the style direction is quite diverse. While each design has yet to be revealed, a few assumptions can be made about style and direction.
The Her Universe design should be a huge hit. This brand finds a way to balance fandom and fashion in innovative ways. Never too fussy yet still feminine, the brand epitomizes what pop culture fans want in their merchandise. Given that these ears will be released in summer 2019, a Star Wars theme seems likely.
A few names might not be instantly recognizable. While Heidi Klum and Karlie Kloss have instant notoriety, Kim Irvine might not jump off the page. She is the Art Director for Disneyland Park. Given her storied career, her design might be the must-buy.
Overall, Disney has commented that the various designs will pay homage to Disney characters and Disney Parks attractions. The idea is to find a new way to visually interpret these beloved characters and places while staying true to the Disney aesthetic.
Two designers are notably absent. While Coach and Vera Wang make the list, Vera Bradley is not on the list. That designer has numerous Disney inspired designs in several collections. Also, Dooney and Burke isn’t on the list. Maybe because these designers work so closely with Disney, they were consciously left off the list.
If you’re not able to make it to a Disney park, you’ll still be able to find them online at shopDisney.com.
