Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger preview: Let’s raise the stakes a little higher

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger ended last week on a crazy cliffhanger. Will Tyrone come to Tandy’s aid? Can his powers help him track her down?

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger had to contend last week with the “early showings” of Avengers: EndgameBut if you were worried about the show giving you spoilers, you don’t need to. In fact, I’m pretty sure Endgame won’t affect the show at all.

Regardless, last week’s episode brought out the big guns–literally, with Brigid pulling out the big guns to pull off a heist with Tyrone. A heist that didn’t go so well, because what Connors said would be hidden in the wine cellar turned out to be empty.

Meanwhile, Tandy tried to beat some information out of a dealer of a grow house, but it was for naught. And then the leader of the group therapy tazed her and put her in a trafficking ambulance.

Here’s the official synopsis for this week’s episode, “B Sides,” courtesy of Freeform:

"In her quest to bring down the sex trafficking ring, Tandy finds herself in a difficult and strange situation. Not sure what is going to happen, she always has Tyrone to lean on, no matter what the circumstance."

I feel like the title of this episode will tie back to the vinyl albums we saw in the Darkforce dimension. The teaser for this week’s episode looked like plenty of hallucinations for Tandy, that could include repressed memories from before.

I personally would also enjoy the soundtrack including some B-sides of famous singles. But that’s just the music nerd in me.

The question remains: Will Tyrone show up in time to save Tandy? And if she’s steeped in hallucinations and dream worlds, will she even believe the real Tyrone if he shows up?

Look, we’ve all dealt with a lot of headaches and heartbreaks over the last week (Endgame, Game of Thrones to name a few). If Cloak and Dagger wanted to give us a bit of a chiller episode to recuperate, that would be lovely.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they plan on slowing down anytime soon. We may as well brace ourselves now.
