Game of Thrones season 8, episode 2: The best fan reactions on social media

The second episode of Game of Thrones’ final season was (of course) filled with so much drama, and social media was absolutely on fire this week.

Warning: This story contains spoilers for the second episode of Game of Thrones’ eighth season.

Game of Thones played it safe yet another week on Sunday’s episode. And while some may have spent the day enjoying Easter festivities with their friends and families, Sunday night was all about Game of Thrones — and the internet didn’t seem to mind spending some of their holiday with the Starks, Targaryens, and Lannisters.

This was a fitting episode for the spring holiday, seeing as relationships and family were at the forefront of the episode. Some were sweet, some were shocking, and some were… well, maybe never going to happen in a thousand years (looking at you, Tormund and Brienne. You’ll have to fight Jaime first).

Elsewhere in Relationshipsville, Jon finally bit the bullet and told Daenerys who he truly was. He, too, is a Targaryen — and luckily, neither seemed to worry that this aunt-nephew duo is totally in love with each other. This is war, and incest is apparently the last thing they have to worry about.

So, what did social media have to say? Let’s start with Jaime Lannister being on trial, and Bran Stark was absolutely not having it when he declares, “The things we do for love.”

Then, let’s talk about what was going down between Arya and Gendry when she came to check on him. Arya, are you flirting, our sweet child?

After that fun and flirty situation, things turn awkward when Jaime visits “Bran,” and Bran gets all mysterious saying that there may not be an “afterward” after all this. What’s going on, Bran?

Okay, and while there may not be a chance in the world that this would happen, we have to give Tormund some credit for wanting to see his bae, Brienne.

Later, Samwell steps up for himself, and claims he needs to join the fight. And honestly, can we give Sam some credit for like, everything?!

Stop the presses! This just in: Arya was flirting with Gendry and they, well, they had quite the night. Some people were here for Arya’s assertiveness, while others seriously couldn’t believe that our little Arya had grown up so fast (*sniffs*).

For an episode with tons of drama, we got at least one heartwarming moment in the end: SER. BRIENNE. OF TARTH, ladies and gentlemen!

And last but not least, the moment had come: Jon Snow drops the big Truth on Daenerys.
