Game of Thrones season 8 episode 2: Predictions for women of Westeros

Game of Thrones is back for episode 2 of season 8 and the women are as strong as ever. Here are predictions for what they’ll get up to this Sunday.

If you watched the season 8 premiere of Game of Thrones, you know it is all about the women this season. Sansa and Daenerys have met, Cersei is doing anything she can to hold onto her power, and Arya is ready to fight for her family (and flirt with Gendry).

But what will happen in episode 2? Here are our predictions.

Sansa vs. Daenerys

Based on episode 1, Sansa and Daenerys do not like each other one bit and that is definitely going to continue into episode 2. Sansa has gone through too much to just kneel to a girl she’s never met before. She may respect Jon but she is not going to let another man lead her anywhere. And Daenerys won’t yield either (when has she ever?). Their relationship may only get worse when Jon’s actual lineage is discovered. Sansa will want Jon to take the throne and Daenerys will certainly not like that. These two are being set up for an ultimate sass battle and it’s going to be epic.

Sansa and Arya learning the truth

Now that Jon knows his father was a Targaryen, the secret will not stay that way for long. Sansa and Arya may not have been around Jon in awhile but they’ll be able to tell that something is most definitely up. Whether by accident or sheer force of will, the secret will come out, and the sisters will demand for Jon what is rightfully his. There is certainly no love lost between them and Daenerys. Because of their loyalty to Jon, Sansa and Arya will try to convince him that the Mother of Dragons no longer has his best interests in mind. Who will win? Two sisters (blood or not) or a new love? Admittedly, it shouldn’t matter because the White Walkers are near — but we know a family feud is coming either way.

Arya the Assassin

Arya will most definitely knock people off her list this season. With Jamie turning up in Winterfell, it’s possible Arya will go for the kill. The Lannisters have helped destroy her family and she will have her revenge. While Cersei would be preferable, her brother will do just as well for Arya. And based on the trailer, it doesn’t look like too many people will mind his death.

Daenerys and Jon

The couple hasn’t been together for long but Daenerys is pretty good at reading people. She is sure to notice Jon pull away or acting strange when they are together. He can’t keep making out with one of his relatives, right? Once she finds out, she may turn against him and his family for fear of them wanting to take the throne from her. She’ll still offer her services for the battle to come, but after that, heads may very well roll. Daenerys has proven herself to be ruthless (she made Sam cry!) and that won’t change when she feels her path to the throne is in jeopardy.

Cersei and… a baby?

There are plenty of fan theories out there that Cersei is pregnant. But what if she isn’t… yet. She may have lied about her pregnancy to Tyrion and Jaime to receive pity, but at some point, people may realize there’s no bump growing in there. With Euron Greyjoy’s creepy mention of him wanting to get the Queen pregnant in the season 8 premiere, we have a feeling Cersei will end up pregnant with his baby. Cersei’s lost all her children, and another one is definitely in the cards for her. As for the child’s father? Cersei has never needed a man, so she’ll likely use Euron to get a child, and be done with him quickly after.
