Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger season 2 premiere preview: Where do we go from here?

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger returns for its second season this week. How much time has passed since the season one finale and where will we head now?

Welcome back to Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger! I can’t believe it’s already been a year since the first season premiered and that we’re starting the second season.

So much has happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since we last saw Tandy and Tyrone. Then again, Cloak and Dagger doesn’t necessarily take place around the same time as Infinity War, so I don’t think we need to worry about a Thanos snap interrupting things anytime soon.

We’re back in action! Here’s the synopsis for this season two premiere, courtesy of Freeform:

"Now living very different lives, Tyrone and Tandy try to stay under the wire while still honing their powers. After coming to terms with their destiny, the two now find it difficult to just stand by and do nothing while bad things continue to happen throughout the city. Meanwhile, Brigid is struggling from her recovery."

So, where did we leave off at the end of the first season?

Well, Tyrone took on Connors, the cop that killed his brother. And I mean that mostly literally — he absorbed him into the dark dimension he channels. Tandy and Tyrone finally combined their powers and saved the city from the Terrors and the possibility of more Terrors to come.  Once everything settles down with Roxxon, Tandy moves back in with her mom to start fresh while Tyrone moves into Tandy’s church.

Also, before Connors was mercilessly swallowed, he killed O’Reilly and dumped her body in a swamp. Except in the post-credits stinger for this season, she climbs back out, her eyes green.

Which teased the fact that she’s coming back as Mayhem. Mayhem isn’t necessarily a bad guy–more of a vigilante than anything–but you have to assume Tandy and Tyrone won’t be trusting her when she shows up looking… well, not so great.

Season two can go in a lot of different directions with these two characters, and I’m hopeful Freeform will take them down some fun paths. How many familiar faces will we see from season one? And will we get any crossovers with Agents of SHIELD?
