Three dates have come and gone, but Rebecca still has a decision to make on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Who is she going to end up choosing?
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend only has one episode left, and last week’s episode left us wondering what kind of decision Rebecca is going to make. With Josh and Nathaniel’s dates, she felt lost and like she was madly in love with them both. However, Rebecca realized that it isn’t always about the romance.
When Greg’s date came around, she couldn’t handle another perfect date, and Greg didn’t really want to go through with his plan. But their connection to each other and the understanding they have make them a better pairing.
This doesn’t mean that Rebecca has to be in a relationship, though. She may be a person better by herself. For so long, we’ve watched as she tried to figure out the men in her life, often pushing her own mental health aside. Focusing on herself for once, though, doesn’t mean that she isn’t ever going to be in love.
Going back and forth between all the men couldn’t have been great for Rebecca and, if last week was any indication, it isn’t easy for her to pick one of them. Greg was the one that seemed to give her an easier choice. Then again, he told her that he loved her, so who knows if it is actually going to be beneficial for her?
Greg may not have always been the best character for Rebecca. At the end of the day, he’s the one that understands her the best. He sees what she’s like and helps her in ways that neither Josh or Nathaniel can. Then again, maybe Rebecca needs to start being able to do that for herself.
The day that Rebecca puts herself above her relationships will be the day that she is probably ready for one. Sure, she can choose any of these men now, but if she doesn’t put herself first, actually start to take care of her mental health, and take what her therapist says seriously, she could continue to make the same mistakes over and over again.
If she does want to be in a relationship, the one that seems to be the healthiest and most mature may be Greg. He is the kind of character who has already done his growth and doesn’t rely on Rebecca to make him change. Together, they can continue to hold each other accountable and grow together rather than one changing while the other remains the same.
Should she still be thinking of any of these men? Sure, if that’s who she loves, but she can also focus her time and energy on herself instead of Josh, Nathaniel, or Greg.
