Everybody needs to watch Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson singing on Carpool Karaoke
By Mia Johnson
Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson sang along to “7 Rings” in the teaser for their Carpool Karaoke episode. And they’re just as good singers as they are actors.
Way before Brie Larson won her Oscar, she was, in fact, a singer who put out a fairly decent pop album. Larson’s got what it takes to sing, but does her Captain Marvel co-star Samuel L. Jackson have what it takes? Oh, absolutely.
The two hit the streets as a makeshift pop-singing duo for the newest episode of Carpool Karaoke. And in the short teaser for the The Late Late Show series, both Larson and Jackson were 100 percent on point when it came to singing Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings.”
What surprised me the most was that Samuel L. Jackson knew pretty much all the lyrics to “7 Rings” — at least a lot more than I knew. And the amount of coordination between the two further proves that the two are BFFs both on and off set. (Plus, it even looks like they could be completely honest with one another, judging by the surprise lie detector test both of them took at the end of the clip.)
We know Larson and Jackson will be moving on to other acting projects now that Captain Marvel is done. But maybe, just maybe, this is giving them some inspiration to form a pop group of their own… or at least tour the world as the best karaoke/cover band duo around.
If they just so happen to need some song suggestions to get the ball rolling, here are a few of today’s top songs we’d love to hear them sing:
- “Sunflower” – Post Malone and Swae Lee
- “Shallow” – Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper
- “I Like It” – Cardi B
- “Eastside” – Benny Blanco, Halsey and Khalid
- “thank u, next” – Ariana Grande
- “Without Me” – Halsey
- “Better Now” – Post Malone
- “High Hopes” – Panic! At The Disco
Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson definitely have what it takes to sing every single one of these songs. And we can’t wait to see what other jams they sing on their full episode of Carpool Karaoke.
Look out for Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson’s full episode of Carpool Karaoke on the Apple TV app. Don’t forget, you can also see the two in Captain Marvel, opening in theaters tonight.
