Disney Parks, Experiences and Products just announced the opening dates for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and it’s closer than you think.

When Disney first announced they were going to be building a Star Wars themed land at both Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida the fan reaction was massive. Well now we now the dates guests can enter into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on both coasts and it’s super soon.

Disneyland Park will be the first to debut Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on May 31, 2019! Then later this summer, guests can experience Star WarsL Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World on August 29, 2019.

This massive 14-acre land is the largest themed land expansion in Disney Parks history. Guests will venture to Black Spire Outpost on the planet of Batuu. Each land is identical in what it offers to guests, including two new attractions, food and beverage options, and merchandise.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening in two phases with the first being the announced dates, and the second phase to come later this year with dates yet to be announced. So what can guests do on the first phase opening?

Guests will be able to experience a whole new attraction aboard the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. On this attraction guests will be able to be in control of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. This new simulator attraction will let guests have one of three roles — pilot, flight engineer and gunner. As your team maneuvers the ship, it will react to your every decision, making each experience on the attraction unique.

During phase one, guests will also be able to try the new food and beverage options on Batuu. There are quite a few options to refuel yourself for more adventures inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Oga’s Cantina will be serving specialty drinks and light snacks while a well-known former Star Tours pilot, R-3X will be the DJ of the establishment.

Ronto Roaster will house an open-air meat spit where guests can find different wraps and sandwiches made with meats from the fire. Docking Bay 7 will allow guests to experience a new fast-casual eatery where everything is themed to the land around them, including Braised Shaak Roast which is beef pot roast with cavatelli pasta, kale and mushrooms. Guests will also be able to try the iconic Star Wars drink, Blue Milk, at The Milk Stand!

Later in 2019, phase two of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening. When it does, guests will be able to experience the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction.
