7 characters we want to see in season 2 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Following the first season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and the Midwinter’s Tale episode, we have quite the character wish list for season 2.
Whether you have read the comics, or are simply a fan of the Netflix series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is packed with interesting characters and an engaging storyline. And after what we saw in the first season of the series, there are certainly a few things we would love to see in the second season.
Despite the special holiday episode floating about to entertain us this month, we can’t help but speculate which new characters could make their way into Sabrina Spellman’s realm during season 2 of CAOS. (Or perhaps previously mentioned characters taking on a larger role.)
Let’s conjure up a few picks for our CAOS wish list, shall we?
Dark Lord
We already know that we are likely to meet the Dark Lord in season 2, considering the series put out a casting call for someone to play the part. And we can’t wait, because really we need to meet Sabrina’s main antagonist. After all, he seems to have a lot of plans for our newly minted witch.
Edward Spellman
Since we have already been introduced to Sabrina’s mother (thanks to the mortal purgatory and her appearance in the special), we think the second season would be a great time to meet her father (sure we have seen glimpses of him, but we need more time with Daddy Spellman). And if the Netflix series really is inspired by the comics, then there is a good chance that we could meet Edward, since he was resurrected (although he is actually resurrected in the body of Harvey Kinkle).
Salem (Before he was a cat)
In the comics, there is an entire issue dedicated to Salem before he was transformed into a cat. And while we can’t say for sure that the show will stick to the same origin story for Salem as the comics, we think it would be fascinating if CAOS introduced us to a pre-feline version of the character. In an interview with Indiewire, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa mentioned there had been a discussion of an episode revolving around Sabrina’s familiar.
Adam Masters
Thanks to Deadline, we already know a little bit about Adam Masters. He is the boyfriend of Mary Wardwell, who of course has been taken over by Madam Satan. After having been gone for some time, he is coming home to a much-changed Greendale — especially a girlfriend who technically doesn’t exist. We can’t wait to learn more about him and see how he fits into the mystery and magic of the town.
Three Demonic Kings
At the very end of the Christmas special, we see three demonic kings walking into the fog. Considering the story that Ambrose was reading (A Christmas Carol), we would not be surprised if these kings play a part moving forward. There’s a chance that the Epiphany they spoke of in season 1 will likely happen in season 2. Who’s ready to see these demonic kings make their presence known in Greendale?
Desmelda
Another character that popped up in the Christmas special for CAOS is Desmelda (mentioned, but not seen). With Zelda prepared to hand over baby Leticia to this witch, we want to know who she is. Basically, we are all invested in Leticia’s story as much as Sabrina’s, which means we want to meet the person/witch who will be taking care of her.
Riverdale characters
This might just be wishful thinking, but we would love to see some real crossover between Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. In the comics, Veronica and Betty visited Greendale, and were apparently witches in their own right. Fans of Riverdale know how wild the show can get. V and B attaining some magical powers kinda sorta makes sense given everything else that’s happened in the town of Riverdale so far. But if that happens, we need Cheryl Blossom to become a witch too because that red-haired vixen deserves some mystical abilities.
When it comes to the second season of CAOS, there are plenty of things we want to see, especially when it comes to new and developing characters. With the second season set to hit Netflix on April 5, 2019, we actually don’t have that long to see if any of our wish list picks above come true.
