Billie Lourd gave a spoiler-free interview about Star Wars: Episode IX and the magic behind the production.

Most Star Wars-related topics have a polarizing impact. Whether it’s the prequels or Rey’s lineage, everyone seems to have a different viewpoint or favorite headcanon. Even Ewoks conjures up some hot takes. Like the universally loved Porgs, the only thing Star Wars fans can agree on is that they love Star Wars. Regardless of your particular stance on anything the galaxy holds, actress Billie Lourd has some powerful words about Star Wars: Episode IX, which we can agree has us looking forward to the future of the fandom.

In an interview with ET Online, Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd told the publication that the future of Star Wars is looking pretty “magical.” Speaking on the Star Wars: Episode IX script, Lourd tells ET Online, “I was on set for, like, three weeks back in September, and it is going to be magical. I can’t say much more, but I’m so excited about it and so grateful to be a part of it. Star Wars is my heart. I love it.”

Whether you’ve grown up watching the original trilogy or you just recently delved into the fandom after watching Poe Dameron in Star Wars Resistance, Lourd’s reassuring words gives us new hope for the impending film.

Director J.J. Abrams told Vanity Fair earlier this year that Star Wars: Episode IX will feature Fisher, who died in December 2016. Given that the Star Wars cast themselves, past and present, are like an extended family the next episode will likely act as an homage to Fisher and her role as Leia—which will only add to the onscreen alchemy.

The stars of Episode IX aren’t revealing any maybe contextual spoilers, which naturally adds to fans’ anticipation. There are already dozens of fan theories circulating throughout Twitter, Reddit, and even our own personal bullet journals. Aside from the should-bes and maybes, some magical secrets have slipped through the metaphorical cracks.

During a tour of Lucasfilm HQ by Inverse, The Star Wars Show, the host revealed a conspicuously damaged lightsaber. Still, even with a potential prop-related teaser, nobody knows what to specifically to expect from the next cinema installment.

Sleuthing from clues might not help us figure out the source of the magic in the future film, but we’re glad to know that Leia will still have a powerful role in the movie.

After all, we’ve all missed Fisher’s snark and empowering presence, and showcasing her in her iconic role doesn’t just have an impact on us, the fans. Obviously, Fisher’s role as Leia will be significant for her family and friends, who will be seeing her for the first time when the film is finally finished and released.

Now that we Billie Lourd hyping up two of our favorite fandoms, including American Horror Story, we might be waiting a bit more patiently for Episode IX to arrive.
