Samuel L. Jackson’s Instagram post could mean Nick Fury’s back again

Samuel L. Jackson shared his business card for Nick Fury on Instagram, but the caption has people guessing if it means he’ll have another MCU role.

It was at the end of Captain America: Winter Soldier that we thought we’d see the last of Nick Fury. That is, until he came back in Avengers: Age of Ultron and again in Avengers: Infinity War. Point being, Nick Fury will always be back, and new clues suggest he’s finding his way onto another MCU movie that’s filming now.

While it hasn’t been officially announced, some suspect that Samuel L. Jackson himself has dropped the hint about the secret role. So what could the evidence be? A  photo he posted to Instagram on Wednesday showing off Nick Fury’s business card.

But we’d say Jackson should have waited until Thursday to make this a #TBT picture because the business card is for S.H.I.E.L.D., which is no longer around. It does at least have his trademark profanity.

Although, it isn’t just the photo of the card that’s raising suspicions for fans — it’s the caption and the photo’s location, too. For one, Jackson writes “Back to the familiar, the comfortable, the lovably fierce! Loving today’s mood!” That’s got some thinking for sure that Jackson is returning for a role in the MCU and that he’s recently been on set. What everyone isn’t so sure about, though, is what movie it could be.

The location of the photo might offer one hint: Watford, U.K. We already know one MCU film is currently filming in the London area: Spider-Man: Far From Home. So could these two bits of evidence mean that Nick Fury will appear in the Spider-Man sequel? It might be possible. Some have speculated that the movie will have a cameo from another MCU character (and we know it certainly won’t be Doctor Strange), making Fury still in the running — as long as he comes back to life in Avengers 4.

The only problem is, why would Fury need to keep tabs on Peter Parker if S.H.I.E.L.D.’s been dismantled for some time now? As we mentioned before, Peter might need a guardian angel if anything were to happen to Tony Stark in Avengers 4 (knock on wood). So, we’re just hoping if Jackson does appear as Fury in Spider-Man, it’s for the best.

It does make us curious why Fury would be keeping hold of a S.H.I.E.L.D. business card, but it’s also likely the card was just a funny prop from Captain MarvelThat movie takes place in the ’90s, so S.H.I.E.L.D. was definitely around back then.

What do you think? Does Jackson’s Instagram post really hint at another role in the MCU, or is he just celebrating #TBT early with a fun throwback prop?
