What’s in store for Claire and Jamie on season 4 of Outlander?

We preview what’s to come for Starz’s season 4 of Outlander and our beloved couple Claire and Jaime.

With Outlander‘s filming for season 4 wrapping up this week, it’s not too long now that we will be returning to the adventures of Claire and Jamie Fraiser, as they take on the country that their daughter, Brianna, calls home a mere 200 hundred years in the future.

The last time we saw our heroine and her long-estranged, since reconnected husband, they had just survived a shipwreck, washing up on the shore of the “colony” of Georgia. Though season 4’s premiere is months away, we, fortunately, have more insight into the forthcoming story, other than it takes place in America.

According to a tweet from our Claire Fraiser, Caitriona Balfe, the character Lizzie Wemyss will be making an appearance in the upcoming season.

Any fan of the Outlander book series knows that Lizzie Wemyss is introduced in the fourth book, Drums of Autumn. She serves as Brianna’s handmaiden on the ship from Inverness to South Carolina. This occurs after Brianna takes the trip through the stones of Craig na Dun.

In March, the Outlander cast and showrunners confirmed Brianna and Jamie would finally meet after rumors came about following the release of set photos of Sophie Skelton (Brianna) dressed in 1700s garb.

This leads to the question of whether Lizzie Wemyss will play the same role as she does in the books in the new season‚– most likely, but we’ll have to wait and see.

If you are a fan of the book series, you are probably anxious to see which parts of Drums of Autumn make it into the show and which do not. Like every other season of Outlander, season 4 is sure to have its highs and lows. And while the lows sometimes outshine the highs, it will be exciting to see what exciting moments the Frasiers have awaiting them this season.

Will Brianna and Claire have a happy reunion? Will the Fraisers thrive in this new land? Whether you have read the books or not, Outlander is always full of surprises. Whatever is in store for this season will certainly be worth the wait.

In honor of the final day of filming, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe shared a fun message for the show’s fans. Dressed in their characters’ clothing, the two actors celebrated the wrap-up and expressed their excitement for the new season — something sweet to hold us over until the November premiere.
