Shadowhunters season 3 episode 8 preview: A Heart of Darkness

Clary and Jace are both behind bars on this week’s Shadowhunters, but for very different reasons. The question is, can either of them be freed?

Lilith’s plan has hit yet another snag on Shadowhunters, but this time because of a Downworlder. This week, her attention is entirely on Simon, while the rest of the gang focuses on getting to Jace.

As it turns out, Jace is pretty easy to capture. Lilith did it at some point to possess him, and now his friends have got him, thanks to the Malachi configuration. In fairness, they’re actually trying to save Jace.

In the finals minutes of last week’s episode, Clary portaled Jace, Alec and Izzy to see Magnus, sacrificing her own freedom to give Jace a chance.

Now, with Clary awaiting judgment at the Gard, it’s up to them to free Jace from his prison.

Here’s the official synopsis from Freeform:

If the episode promo is any indication, it seems Magnus manages to at least get through to Jace temporarily. Understandably, Jace is devastated about what’s happened and terrified of what comes next if Lilith finds him again.

But right now, her focus is on finding Simon, and vice versa. Hopefully, that leaves Magnus and the Lightwoods enough time to find a way to save Jace without having to kill him.
