Going from punk-rock to piano-driven, Avril Lavigne will be releasing a new album by the end of 2018 that could be more emotional than any of her other work.
Avril Lavigne’s last album was released in 2013, with many fans waiting for some new music from the punk-rock princess. Two years later in 2015, Avril revealed she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Now, with additional fan support, Avril is now back to bring us a brand new album this year.
Avril Lavigne has been stealing our hearts with her tank tops and neckties since 2002. Her skater-punk music made a mark through the early two-thousands with her six number-one singles and three number one albums. Songs like “Sk8tr Boi,” “Complicated,” “My Happy Ending” and “Girlfriend” just to name a few.
However, in a recent interview with E! News at the Race to Erase MS Gala, Avril revealed that the new album is “more of a vocal record… it’s very piano-driven.”
This is a big change for the skater-punk singer, as her songs tend to be upbeat and energetic. This change hasn’t deterred fans at all, but rather made them more eager to hear what Avril has in store. To say fans are excited for this is an understatement with many sharing their passion and love for the singer on Twitter.
Some fans are embracing the new change with open arms, eagerly awaiting to hear what the singer has in store for them.
The new album has a chance to show a more vulnerable side to Avril, something fans get to rarely see. It could also provide more awareness for Lyme disease with an insight into her battle as she mentions she has “gone through a lot of personal stuff in the past few years.”
In another interview, with Access Online, Avril Lavigne also teased a couple of “fun songs” in the new album, possibly hinting at songs similar to her previous number one hits. If so, there’s no doubt that fans wouldn’t appreciate these throwbacks to her earlier days.
