5 times celebs were total social media BFFs

Celebrities really are just like us, and that means they fangirl over other celebs just as much as we do!

There’s nothing better, for us civilians at least, than seeing two huge celebs freaking out over each other on social media. Whether they’re praising each other for their recent project, or just cracking jokes about each other, it warms our heart to see our faves love each other as much as we love them.

Some stars are straight-up BFFs on social media, casually talking through GIFs like they’re old friends, and others definitely have a budding friendship being nurtured through their Twitter interactions.

Lin-Manuel Miranda and Sarah Michelle Gellar

When the Buffy The Vampire Slayer star excitedly posted on Twitter about getting to sign the wall backstage at the smash Broadway hit Hamilton, the show’s creator Lin-Manuel Miranda shared the tweet with a heart-eyes emoji. And thus a social media friendship was born!

Gellar responded <“Ok I’m done. I’ve accomplished all I need to in life. I’ve been noticed by @Lin_Manuel” because it’s freakin’ Lin-Manuel Miranda, and who wouldn’t freak out? The two stars continued the conversation…entirely in GIFs!

Miranda returned the favor when Gellar tweeted about a Buffy reunion, and the two had another conversation entirely in GIFs of each other. True friendship is never uttering a word  to each other and speaking entirely in animated photos over Twitter. It’s 2018, get with it!

Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot

Everybody already knows that Ryan Reynolds has the best social media game in the business. He lovingly roasts his wife Blake Lively and friends and co-stars like Hugh Jackman and, recently, Gal Gadot.

Gal Gadot, the badass we all know as Wonder Woman, had some fighting words for Deadpool on Twitter when a promotional photo for Deadpool 2 was released. “Dude stole my look,” Gadot tweeted, but with the right emojis so we all knew she was just joking around with her bud.

Reynolds, of course, is not one to let a Twitter burn slide. “Imitation is the sincerest form of larceny,” the Marvel star retorted.

Clearly a MCU-DCEU crossover is not going to happen anytime soon, but can we get some kind of buddy comedy skit with Wonder Woman and Deadpool, please?

Kelly Clarkson and Dolly Parton

Now, when you think of “social media stars” you definitely don’t think of country music legend Dolly Parton, but if you’re Kelly Clarkson, you might be lucky enough to get a tweet!

Parton was just casually watching a cover Clarkson did of her song “Jolene” and thought everyone needed to know how good it was.

Clarkson, naturally, freaked out. “Remember that one time Dolly freakin’ Parton tweeted me?! #isthisreallife” she tweeted. Can you imagine one of your idols just casually tweeting you like an old friend? No biggie.

Kelly Clarkson and Sam Smith

I guess everybody wants to be Kelly Clarkson’s Twitter bestie, but honestly, same.

When these two stars met, they couldn’t stop gushing about how much they loved each other. And they even brought up the possibility of working on a song together!

“You are truly wonderful in every way Ms Clarkson. All my love forever and always. Hope to see you soon!!!!!” Smith responded, with lots of hearts. If that made him excited, Clarkson’s tweet back probably gave him a heart attack: “We should probably sing together at some point if we’re ever in the same neighborhood again. Just sayin’ 💁🏼 love your new song!”

It’s cute how Kelly reacts to praise from Dolly, and Sam does the same over praise from Kelly. Celebs really are just like us!

Adele and Celine Dion

Adele might be one of the biggest celebrity fangirls out there. She has openly talked about her love for artists like her “queens” Britney Spears, Beyoncé and of course, Céline Dion.

This past New Years Eve, Adele spent the night at Dion’s Las Vegas show wearing a sweater with the singer’s face on it, which she shared a picture of on Instagram. “Queen Celine! What a show, an absolute highlight of my life,” she wrote in the caption. “thank you so much for the attention to your crowd and insane humor. Happy new year lady x”

Of course, Céline had nothing but love to give back to the British star. She posted a picture side-by-side with Adele, and her Céline sweater, with the caption “Wasn’t able to do all my shows, but was thrilled that Adele came to one of them…. I love her so much!!”

We love queens supporting queens!
