Taylor Swift has never forgotten where she has come from, and this past weekend the pop superstar proved this to be truer than ever before.
So many years ago, a young girl by the name of Taylor Swift played a set at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee. During the performance, Swift’s life would be changed forever as a guy by the name of Scott Borchetta took a chance on her. And now, years later, Swift is the biggest superstar in the world and chose to come back to her roots over the weekend.
Swift performed in front of 40 people, and reminisced with them about how she got her start, songwriting, and she even told a story or two. The songstress was invited to perform by country songwriter, Craig Wisemen and performed tracks like “Love Story,” “Better Man,” and “Shake It Off”.

“I wanted to say a big thank you to the Bluebird Cafe,” the 28-year-old singer said, according to the Tennessean. “I think any songwriter in town would echo my sentiments and say that this is kind of the only place where this exists — this particular place where you get to come and hear the writer’s take on the songs they’ve put out into the world.”
The performance was reportedly filmed for a documentary in honor of the Cafe’s 35th anniversary, and among the 40 people in the crowd was the one who discovered her, Scott Borchetta. Nostalgia happened over the weekend by the way of Taylor Swift and it was glorious.

If a documentary is coming, we are so excited to see more footage of the surprise appearance from Swift herself. It’s nice to see artists like Swift come back to their roots and reminding themselves how they got to where they are in the first place. After all, our favorite girl did promise that she would never change but she would never stay the same either. We are loving who she’s become and will forever know her as Taylor.
