Marvel fans need to start planning a trip to Disneyland Paris
Marvel fans are finally getting the theme park experience that they want. Disneyland Paris announced a huge expansion which includes a Marvel area.
Disney has given people of all ages magical memories through the years. From the fantasy princess castles to iconic animated characters, Disney is the place where dreams do come true. For the Marvel fan, the Disney theme parks seemed to have overlooked many of the classic characters. Disneyland Paris is ready to welcome Marvel fans with a huge expansion.

During the D23 Expo in Japan, Disney announced a redesign of the Disneyland Paris Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith. The new roller coaster will be a high-adventure experience featuring Iron Man and other Avenger characters. This new roller coaster is the kind of Marvel experience that fans have been waiting for.
Building on that announcement, Disney also announced additional details on the park’s expansion. The photo of the Iron Man-themed roller coaster seems to bring the power and technology that Iron Man possesses. The experience is said to be “hyper-kinetic,” which could capture the Marvel character and Marvel world. While it probably won’t include 3D or virtual reality effects, the storyline should stay true to the character and the movies.
The Marvel world is just one part of the theme park’s expansion. Using the park’s lake as the center point, a Frozen area and Star Wars expansion are also in the works. While these areas won’t be complete for several years, fans are surely becoming excited over the expansion announcement.
Opening three new areas is quite an ambitious endeavor for Disney, but the rewards could be great. These movies have made billions worldwide with the vast fan base it has. If fans are willing to travel more for immersive fan-experiences, then Disney has a great opportunity to capture those fans’ travel dollars if they begin flocking to the park.
In addition, the Disneyland Paris expansion is set to include a hotel opening. Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will portray many Marvel characters. Iron Man, The Avengers, Spider-Man and others will be part of the experience. Hopefully, the hotel will totally immerse guests into the Marvel world. From themed rooms to character interactions, Disney has many great options with this type of property.

To get Marvel fans excited about the upcoming expansion, Disneyland Paris is celebrating the “Marvel Summer of Super Heroes.” This special event offers guests new live entertainment and the chance to meet their favorite Marvel heroes. These types of fan interactions make for a memorable guest experience. Whether it’s character meet-and-greets or experiencing movie-like activities, these experiences are always popular with fans. It’s clear that Disney excels at making magical memories.
While this expansion is great for Marvel fans, some people might be disappointed to hear that Marvel attractions aren’t coming to the Florida location. And though a Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster is set to open in Epcot, a big Iron Man ride or other Avengers rides won’t be showing up in Orlando.
With Universal Studios a short ride away from Mickey’s empire, the theme park capital of the world, Orlando, Florida, has some restrictions on which characters can be at certain parks, all because of licensing rights. According to the Orlando Sentinel, even though Disney owns the Marvel characters, Universal Orlando retains some characters’ rights because they were bought before the Disney acquisition. Visitors to Orlando wanting to ride an Avengers-themed roller coaster, like Hulk, or do a Captain America dinner must go to Universal, not Disney.
