RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10: Who are the rumored queens?
Season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race is just around the corner, so it’s time to start speculating! Which queens can we expect to see?
Even though RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 3 is still going, fans were excited to find out that season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race is just around the corner. In fact, Ru isn’t giving us any time to breathe!
The new season of Drag Race is set to premiere on Thursday, March 22, and episodes will be 90 minutes every week. Along with Untucked, that’s a whole two hours of Drag Race every week! We’re not sure we’re ready for all that. Can I get an amen?!
With a new season comes a new crop of queens, of course. Before the season is even filmed, fans online are frantically trying to figure out which queens are going to be cast. Sometimes, they’re scarily accurate. Once filming starts, it gets easier to weed out which queens were MIA during the same period of time.
Of course, we know that Eureka O’Hara will be back, as she was forced to leave due to an injury sustained in season 9, but who else will we meet? Judging by Ru’s tweets, an announcement is imminent, but we just can’t wait! So here are your rumored season 10 queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race!
It goes without saying: major spoiler alert!
Aquaria
Aquaria is already a huge Instagram sensation. Fans had been hoping she would appear on the show for years, but as she was under 21 years old, she wasn’t able to audition. When she turned 21 last year, it was her time to shine — and it seems like the New Yorker did.
With the huge impact of social media nowadays, it’s hard for Drag Race contestants to disappear unnoticed. Rumors start to swirl about which queens will be appearing on the next season, and then the queens go silent.
Aquaria was no different. Her public Facebook went quiet on Sept. 6, and then her Instagram and Twitter followed suit on Sept. 9.
After the buzz surrounding her for years, it’s no surprise to find out she might have been cast on the hit show.
Miz Cracker
Another New York queen, Miz Cracker is known for her sky-high blonde hair and her sharp humour. She can also be recognized for her catchphrase “Okay Katelyn, time for dinner!” which is in reference to her friend Katelyn, who is often by her side.
Like Aquaria, Cracker disappeared from social media at the beginning of September. Her Facebook was last active on Sept. 7, her Twitter on Sept. 8, and her Instagram went quiet on Sept. 10. You can’t hide anything from us anymore, RuPaul!
Obviously, the queens are not allowed to reveal if they were cast on the show or not. But it seems like Miz Cracker is preparing her brand before the cast list is revealed, after appearing on podcasts and starting her own weekly YouTube show.
We have no doubt that Cracker could dominate the competition.
Blair St. Clair
Like the other queens we mentioned, Blair St. Clair also disappeared from social media in early September. However, unlike the other queens, Blair was exposed as a cast member for a different reason: by TMZ.
It was revealed, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ, that the Indiana queen was pulled over in March after driving under the influence at more than twice the legal limit. She was banned from leaving the state of Indiana … but RuPaul’s Drag Race films in Los Angeles.
There was no word whether or not this caused any problems on the show, but who knows? Maybe it’ll come up, and she’ll be disqualified and have to leave.
It sounds so juicy, and the season hasn’t even started yet!
Dusty Ray Bottoms
And yet again, here is another New York queen! Dusty Ray Bottoms moved from Kentucky to NYC about seven years ago. She was also a finalist on the annual drag competition So You Think You Can Drag along with Drag Race season 9’s Alexis Michelle.
You know the drill by now. Like everyone else, Dusty disappeared from Facebook and Instagram on Sept. 5 and 7, respectively. We can only go off rumors right now, but according to Reddit, many NYC sources insisted she would be one of the New York queens appearing on the show.
Kalorie K. Williams
Kalorie K. Williams is from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She’s known for being a big girl with some killer dance moves.
Like the others, she disappeared in early September, but was apparently still liking posts on Instagram. However, when one Reddit fan called her day job (she works as a hairstylist), they were told she was unavailable for five weeks because of a “medical procedure“. Very suspicious!
Kameron Michaels
Kameron Michaels is a self-proclaimed “body builder Barbie” from Nashville. She disappeared from her social media around Sept. 9, and so on and so forth.
But just like Kalorie, Kameron was also unavailable at her day job during the filming of the new season. Fans tried to book hair appointments with her through the salon’s website, and those dates were unavailable. So Kameron and Kalorie are both on the new season, right?
Asia T. O’Hara
This former Miss Gay America is harder to confirm. Obviously, superfans on websites like Reddit swear she’s on the show, but her social media went silent a lot earlier than the other queens.
Asia vanished from her usual gigs and her social media pages were inactive as of mid-August. Maybe she was trying to throw people off the scent, or maybe she’s just bad at social media. Either way, Drag Race detectives are positive she is one of the contestants on the upcoming season.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see!
Monét X Change
So basically season 10 should just be called RuPaul’s New York Drag Race, because Monét is another queen hailing from New York. She’s actually close friends with season 8 winner Bob The Drag Queen, as well as Miz Cracker.
Monét was first rumoured to be on season 9 of Drag Race. That’s not surprising, since most notable queens are immediately plagued with casting rumors every summer. Obviously those were untrue.
This time around, the Brooklyn queen is all but confirmed to be on the show. Her Facebook and Instagram fell silent in early September, like the others, and she cancelled a gig at New York University on Sept. 21, per Reddit fans.
Monique Heart
Monique Heart is from Kansas City, MO, and she’s also a former Miss Gay Kansas City. Not only did she go off social media in September, but she also apparently took a hiatus from her day job until mid-October.
Like we said, it’s getting harder and harder for queens to hide the fact that they were cast on the show. Internet sleuths are just too good; if it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t be writing this article!
The Vixen
The Vixen is from the ballroom scene, and her death dropping and high-energy performances are the type to make us scream “Yaaaas queen!” She also appeared on the song “Cocky” by season 9 contestant Shea Couleé. Both queens are from Chicago.
This queen missed a gig in late September, which got a lot of people talking, especially since her social media had nothing but radio silence.
Vanessa Vanjie Mateo
Vanessa is a pageant queen from Tampa, Florida. If the name “Mateo” sounds familiar to some fans, that’s because Vanessa’s drag mom is season 3’s Alexis Mateo. A lot of connections this season! But will that help or harm the new queens?
People got suspicious when she disappeared from her social media pages, including her boy Facebook.
Yuhua Hamasaki
Last but certainly not least, there’s Yuhua Hamasaki. Yuhua is a professional seamstress from — where else? — New York. She actually makes costumes for a lot of other drag queens, including some of her rumored season 10 sisters, like Monét, Cracker, and Dusty.
While she was MIA (for filming, hopefully) another queen named Tina Burner had to step in for Yuhua’s usual gig. When you’re a notable queen and you miss your regular shows out of the blue, it’s pretty much confirmed you’re on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
