Game of Thrones season 8: HBO wants to spoil the show for you
If only partially, HBO wouldn’t mind spoiling Game of Thrones season 8 for fans everywhere … provided they enter a drawing first.
Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers are precious. There’s something deeply satisfying about knowing or seeing what’s to come ahead of time. Even when the show returns, though, it’ll be fun to see how the story gets from the end of season 7 into wherever in season 8 the spoiler occurs.
However, sometimes, Game of Thrones and HBO want to take it a step further. Instead of having to trawl the internet, they want fans to actually see an episode ahead of time. No, there’s not going to be an intentional leak of the season 8 premiere. Instead, it’s more along the lines of winning a contest to go to the premiere.
You know, with the red carpet and everything.
HBO and Omaze have teamed up for a giveaway and even released a promotional video featuring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau attempting to give everything important away, like plot points, and failing thanks to some quick censoring:
Presumably, he’s not actually using real plot points, but wouldn’t it be funny if one of the things he jokingly says — like, say, Jaime getting his hand back by some sort of magic — actually happens?
Unfortunately, that probably won’t happen in the season 8 premiere if it happens at all. Still, even the chance to go is pretty great, and the proceeds will go to NEXT for AUTISM. HBO has actually worked with the charity before for Jon Stewart’s Night of Too Many Stars special, and there are different experiences as well if somehow you don’t want to go see the Game of Thrones season 8 premiere and meet people in the cast.
Granted, not everyone can joke about seeing if they’re taller than Kit Harington if they win, like this writer did on this week’s episode of Winter is Coming Live.

But you might be able to admire his hair at the very least … oh, and be able to spoil things (or at least know things).
