5 Netflix TV shows and movies to watch before March takes them away

Another wave of shows and movies are being added and removed from Netflix this March. This is what you have to see before it goes bye-bye.

Netflix is growing its list of available programs for you this March. Thankfully, it’s adding more shows than what its taking away. But that just makes it easier for you to successfully manage your end-of-February binge. Here’s what you should catch on the ‘Flix before it slips away.

Zootopia

It’s hard to escape the magic of Disney, but if Zootopia managed to get by you, this is a must-watch. The 2016 movie won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature last year, and it’s easy to see why. It’s smart, funny, kid-friendly and has some star power with Jason Bateman, Idris Elba and others. The underlying lessons that it teaches about following your dreams and standing up against prejudice is beyond what some adult films even touch on. Take it from us: this movie isn’t just for kids.

Archer: seasons 1-7

The long-running adult cartoon show Archer is poised to run a few more seasons, but its stay on Netflix is coming to an end. And you can’t go wrong with a comedy cartoon that’s been on for that long. Plus it features the voice of the hilarious H. Jon Benjamin, known  for his voice work as Bob in Bob’s Burgers. If you can’t watch everything in time, all episodes, including season 8, are luckily available on Hulu.

Anastasia

Some might think that only ’90s kids remember the 1997 film Anastasia, but that doesn’t have to be true with Netflix’s help (at least for now). It’s based on the true story of the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia, but has the feeling of a sophisticated Disney princess movie. This might even be a good chance to brush up on the movie before seeing the Broadway musical, which began its run in 2016.

Slums of Beverly Hills

Words can’t come to describe the off-beat, comedic nature of this 1998 movie. If you watch this movie with no sound from across the room (which I have, by the way), it’ll really leave you wondering “what is this movie?” It’s a no-brainer to watch if you’re a fan of Netflix’s Orange is the New Black because the movie’s lead is Natasha Lyonne, known for her character, Nicky. And who doesn’t love OITNB?

The Killing: seasons 1-2

Crime drama shows never go out of style. So if you’re tired of the same old Law and Order episodes, give The Killing a shot. The AMC show is based off of a Danish series and revolves around the investigation of character Rosie Larsen’s murder. After some rocky instances of cancellations, Netflix eventually picked up the show for the fourth season. Best to get these seasons out of the way now to make room for seasons 3 and 4.
