Sebastian Stan fans raise money for Our Big Day Out

Sebastian Stan’s fans are helping children in Romania by donating to the organization Our Big Day Out. The cause is one close to the actor’s heart and homeland.

Update: The fundraiser, started by Jennifer Shawcross, Christina Phan, Liz Kinghorn, and Raquel Willis, is nearly through. With 6 days left, their goal is now up to €21,000 and they need a little over €800 to make it.

Sebastian Stan has some pretty amazing fans who love to help others as much as the actor himself.

Stan, 35, has been very vocal about his support for the charity Our Big Day Out. The organization aims to provide shelter and a better way of life for children in Romania, as well as families living in poverty and the elderly living in shelters. From Constanța, Romania, the actor easily sees this charity as being close to his heart.

Recognizing this, his fans recently set up a GoFundMe account to raise money and donate in Sebastian’s honor. Within the last five days, the fundraiser has quickly gained traction and raised £8,064 (or over $11,300), all in Stan’s name.

It’s incredible what these fans were able to do with the campaign. Stan gave a shout out a few fans in particular on his Instagram page, named Jen, Christina, Liz and Rocky. He thanked them for their efforts, saying he was “in awe of these acts of kindness.”

Not only is it amazing what Stan’s fans are capable of, but this isn’t the first time they’ve raised money in honor of the actor. In 2017 while attending the Toronto International Film Festival, he filled in a prompt on a wall that asked “Before I die I want to …” Stan finished the line by writing a simple “help someone.” Soon after, a fan-driven campaign was set to benefit Unitas, another cause close to the Avengers‘ actor’s heart.

This time around, his fans have donated time and money to raise awareness for Our Big Day Out and help children in need. Ultimately, whether his fans found the organization through Stan or on their own is unimportant. What truly matters is that Our Big Day Out will be able to help more children in need thanks to these fans’ efforts.

As of now, the goal is set at £9,000 and it’s been noted as a trending campaign on its GoFundMe page. There’s a strong chance it could surpass its goal, with it being less than £1,000 away.
