Amy Schumer marries chef Chris Fischer in surprise wedding
Amy Schumer and chef Chris Fischer tie the knot in a surprise wedding. The couple wed in a private ceremony in Malibu just a day before Valentine’s Day.
UPDATED: Amy Schumer confirmed her surprise nuptials to chef Chris Fischer by sharing photos of the big day on Instagram, with a simple caption of “Yup.”
Since the news broke this morning, wedding guest Jennifer Lawrence described the ceremony to Entertainment Tonight as being both “beautiful” and “very sudden.”
“His vows were stunning,” Lawrence said. “It’s when two people really love each other and they really mean it, it shows, and it was a beautiful ceremony and an amazing time. I couldn’t be happier for them.”
The Instagram slideshow Schumer posted reveals several details from the wedding, such as her stunning A-line Monique Lhuiller gown and her hair styled as a messy braid. The Trainwreck star’s sister, Kim Caramele, appears as one of the bridesmaids along with one other girl.
Other adorable deets include the use of black fluffy dogs walking down the aisle and the Jewish tradition of stomping on glass.
Schumer’s Instagram story gave thanks to those who made her special day even more memorable.
One key question of her fans was also answered: Was there a particular reason for the quickie wedding?
“Two things,” Schumer wrote in an Instagram post. “No, I’m not pregnant, and no gifts — but thank you for asking.”
The 36-year-old added that those interested could instead donate to EveryTown for gun safety. “Thought of Mayce and Jillian a lot yesterday and sending love to everyone who was affected by gun violence,” Schumer wrote.

Their wedding announcement comes only a few days after Schumer and her now-husband made their relationship social media official with a loving Instagram post on Sunday.
In the smoochy post, Schumer wished pal Ellen DeGeneres a happy birthday along with a black-and-white photo of the happy couple. The pic was likely taken during DeGeneres’ star-studded 60th birthday party on Saturday.
The couple exchanged vows in front of 80 people, including celeb friends Jennifer Aniston, James Corden, Jennifer Lawrence, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend.
The whole event seems to have been quickly planned, if at all, as some guests were invited via text message.
If this whole thing sounds more like a great rom-com plot for Schumer than her actual wedding, you wouldn’t be far off. The couple wrote their own hilarious vows and had comedian John Early officiate.
Rumors of this duo dating started after they were photographed having dinner together in New York City in November. They were spotted again in the Big Apple in January, headed to NBC Studios to watch Saturday Night Live. Their romance came six months after Schumer split from her boyfriend of two years, Ben Hanisch.
