Donald Trump’s Hall of Presidents robot looks like Hillary Clinton, says Twitter

President Donald Trump’s Hall of Presidents robot at Disney World looks exactly like Hillary Clinton and we can’t handle it.

Donald Trump’s animatronic at Disney World’s Hall of Presidents has finally made its debut after months of delays. But it looks … wrong. And Twitter is tearing it to shreds.

The Hall of Presidents unveiled its Trump robot yesterday and officially re-opened today. Trump stands between Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant during the attraction. But many think it looks like someone else is standing there. Perhaps a different 2016 presidential candidate?

The Trump robot definitely does look like Hillary Clinton. It just does. And once you see it, you can’t unsee it. Trump’s win in the 2016 election was a huge shock, so some have joked that Disney was working on a Clinton animatronic in anticipation of her win and had to change tracks after Trump’s surprise win. They just changed the face a bit and added a giant tie.

As Brendan Kennedy noted on Twitter, even Google got confused and thought a picture of the Trump robot was really Clinton. “Even @Google recognizes who got the popular vote in #Election2016,” Twitter user Jason Wages commented. Other commenters joked that the Imagineers were grumpy and deliberately made the robot look like Clinton.

Clinton isn’t the only comparison Hall of President fans have made, though. Others have said the Trump robot bears a striking resemblance to actor Jon Voight.

No matter who you think the robot looks like, though, we can all agree it just doesn’t look right. Many took to Twitter to mock the animatronic for how creepy it looked.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Trump nods his head during the presidential roll call, moves his arms, and gives a speech like other incumbent presidents.

The speech begins with the oath of office and then goes on to have Trump say:

"Above all, to be American is to be an optimist — to believe that we can always do better — and that the best days of our great nation are still ahead of us. It’s a privilege to serve as the president of the United States, to stand here among so many great leaders of our past, and to work on behalf of the American people."

Besides the reaction to the physical look of the animatronic, the Hall of Presidents has faced a ton of controversy since the election. The attraction closed on Jan. 17 to prepare for the update and then faced months of delays because Trump hadn’t recorded his dialogue for his robot.

These delays caused conspiracy theories that Disney had to redo the robot because they thought Clinton would win. There were also theories that Disney and the White House were feuding and that Trump wouldn’t have a speaking role like other sitting presidents. However, those reports proved to be untrue.

There were even protests over including the president in the Hall of Presidents and giving him a speech. And what could the man from the Access Hollywood tape possibly say in a respectful, patriotic children’s theme park attraction? There was even a popular Change.org petition about it, which has received over 15,000 signatures.

Of course, they did end up having Trump in there with a speech, which isn’t surprising. It just happens to look like someone else. So while Clinton may never have a place in the White House, she’ll still be able to stand amongst the other presidents in Disney World … sort of.
