Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s second trailer and poster arrive

Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s second trailer is finally out, and for all your watching needs, we’ve got you covered right here.

A trailer and a poster both for Star Wars: The Last Jedi are here tonight.

We won’t beat around the bush right now. Here’s what you came to see:

Some quick notes, although we here at Culturess will be talking about this trailer throughout the week:

  • The obvious parallel is that Luke speaks as a mentor to Rey in the first trailer. But it’s Snoke speaking to Kylo Ren to start the second trailer, again as a mentor. It’s not our request of Leia’s narration, but it’s close.
  • Did that last moment just try and say that Rey will turn to Kylo? We also spotted her having a run-in with Snoke — and it looks like Snoke was using some Force abilities on her.
  • Did this trailer just try to imply that Kylo might have the chance to take Leia down? Don’t hurt us like this, Lucasfilm!
  • Captain Phasma vs. Finn? We’re here for it.
  • It’s pretty clear that Luke’s talking about “raw power” from Kylo Ren — there’s really no one else it could be at least based on what we know.

Thanks to TheWrap, here’s that promised poster, too:

Check out Rose and General Hux between Finn and Leia and then Leia and Poe, respectively. Then, contrast this to the poster for The Force Awakens , as we did with the first poster as well, although this poster is much more of a response to TFA‘s in terms of composition — most obviously, Leia’s bigger. Instead of Kylo Ren and Rey being in line with each other, they’re instead back to back, but their lightsabers are still running parallel.

Also, does it look like Rey has some sort of injury on her arm, just above her lightsaber?
