Fans step into their movie fantasy at Lionsgate Entertainment City NYC

Some movies and television shows resonate deeply with fans. Coming to New York City, fans can entertain their movie fantasies at Lionsgate Entertainment City.

Times Square is adding another entertaining fan experience. Just steps from Madame Tussauds, pop culture brands and other New York landmarks, Lionsgate Entertainment City is set to open in 2019. This new indoor entertainment center looks to bring popular Lionsgate brands directly to its fans. From dining in the Capitol to channeling your inner Don Draper, this new fan experience will surely have people lining up.

Anyone who visits New York City will inevitably make a stop in Times Square. The location is home to the annual New Year’s Eve ball drop. The electronic signage has been featured in numerous films, television shows and pop culture references. Whether it is 2 p.m. or 2 a.m., the area is always filled with people.

Announced recently, the new Lionsgate Entertainment City should become another stop for Times Square visitors. The indoor entertainment center will offer dining, simulators, live shows and an obstacle course. All of the activities will have a Lionsgate property theme.

Since certain brands, characters and franchises resonate with fans, this indoor entertainment center should be a huge success for Lionsgate. With a built in audience and the large number of tourists, the Lionsgate experience should have large crowds. Although ticket prices weren’t announced, the price may not deter any diehard fan.

According to Lionsgate, the indoor entertainment center will feature:

"• Hunger Games flying simulator attraction taking fans on an exciting rescue mission through The Capitol• Dauntless Challenge Course, a Divergent themed obstacle course• John Wick: Chapter Two shooting ride where fans go head-to-head with a series of assailants• theatre that will host a variety of 4D film and live show experiences• virtual reality entertainment, including a Nerve VR motorcycle thrill experience• Mad Men themed dining and lounge experience• Hunger Games-inspired Peeta’s Bakery and The Capitol Confectionery"

Bringing this type of indoor entertainment center to New York City is good business, but it can also be a little disappointing. Of course, fans will clamor for the opportunity to experience all of these activities. Flight simulators, VR experiences and indoor rides are very thrilling. Even people who may not be huge fans can find all of these Lionsgate experiences enjoyable.

But, at the heart of New York City is culture. From the world class museums to Broadway to just the city itself, New York City is one of a kind. Hopefully this indoor entertainment center doesn’t take away from the other important landmarks in this remarkable city. Granted, Times Square isn’t the seedy place from the 1980s, but it doesn’t need to be a commercial theme park.
