Taylor Swift’s nemesis may have just crossed a major line.
While Katy Perry was kept from the honors of announcing Swift’s music video for “Look What You Made Me Do” at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards last month, she didn’t hesitate to reach out to Swift’s longtime friend Selena Gomez after hearing of her recent kidney transplant.
On September 15, Hollywood Life shared a report regarding Perry’s recent message to Gomez, which was shared on the “Fetish” singer’s Instagram page after she went public with her health crisis.
“Love your heart and authenticity,” Perry wrote in a comment under Gomez’s photo post about her kidney transplant and gracious donor, Francia Raisa.
Are Selena Gomez and Katy Perry friends?
In 2015, following the release of the music video for Swift’s “Bad Blood,” rumors began swirling in regard to tension between Gomez and Perry, who had been civil in the past. However, according to a separate report, Gomez allegedly reached out to Perry after filming the video to assure the “Firework” singer that her part in the clip was not malicious.
While Gomez eventually confirmed that there was no “bad blood” between her and Perry, she denied reaching out to her in regard to the video, specifically. During an interview with The Edge Afternoon after the clip was released, Gomez said she loved Perry and labeled her “awesome” and “amazing.”
Selena Gomez was linked to a Katy Perry ex last year
As Swift took a step out of the spotlight, Gomez was linked to Orlando Bloom during his romance with Perry. As fans may recall, Gomez was joined by Bloom at an after party for her Revival World Tour kickoff in Las Vegas and appeared to be coming on to Gomez.
In response to the interaction, which was chronicled in photos that were later shared online, Perry took to Twitter where she encouraged fans to check out an article about Bloom’s charity endeavors instead of buying into the “dumb conspiracy” of Gomez and Bloom’s alleged flirtation.
“#killemwithkindness -one day they’ll get it lol,” Gomez wrote in response.
