As Disney cartoon classic DuckTales made its buzzy (or quacky?) comeback over the weekend, Scrooge McDuck’s baller pool of gold coins comes to mind. But it was hardly the only on-screen home feature we’ve coveted over the years.

Admit it: you always wanted to dive head first into Scrooge McDuck’s pool of gold coins from DuckTales. Okay, yes, it would probably actually hurt a lot as you would be literally diving into a pile of metal. But still. It would be worth it. (Plus, if you have access to a pool of gold, you could probably afford the doctor’s bill for whatever you bruise or break.) At this year’s D23 conference in July, attendees did get a chance to dive into the famous cartoon money pit, only the coins in that case looked conspicuously less perilous than the real thing. Of course, if you wanted to try the real thing a few years back, and had an extra $450,000 laying around, you could have just bid on this actual vault filled with coins up for auction in Switzerland in 2013. (Sorry, it’s probably long gone by now.)

The animated pinnacle of #mansiongoals is making another comeback that kicked off on Saturday, when the highly anticipated DuckTales reboot went live with a special movie event on Disney XD before the full series debuts in September, 30 years after the original premiered. With an updated animation style and an all-star cast that includes David Tennant, Bobby Moynihan, Beck Bennett and guest stars like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Allison Janney, and more, the buzz about the reboot is more than warranted.

But back to that pool full of gold coins. Yes, we vaguely remember the original show: there were ducks, and a plane… but really what stands out (in this author’s memory anyway) is that sea of coins, because what a rad thing to have in your house. And it makes sense that the original cartoon series debuted in the late ’80s—it was a time of glitz, excess, and, apparently, the start of the golden era of movies and TV shows featuring houses that had ridiculous, jealousy-inducing amenities.

If it wasn’t a pool of gold coins lorded over by a greedy, bi-focaled old duck, it was a waterslide that went through the upstairs window, or closet that picked out your outfit for you in the morning. We’ve rounded up nine more of our favorite dream features from houses on the big and small screen. Make yourself at (dream) home.
